A Writer's Life

I wrote ten pages today and am not finished yet.  I woke up and drank my pepsi and couldn't stop writing.  So today is a good day.  I have 7,000 words written so far on my 4th episode of Zombie Zoo.  Once I start writing, it just flowed and the words came onto the computer screen.  I know that I will have to rewrite it and then edit it but this I know where I am going and know how it will end.  I try to write when I don't feel like it and I try to write more when I do feel like it.  Hoping that it will all work out.  I am writing more than 1,000 words a day.  I would like to write more, but work gets in my way.  I am hoping one day soon I will be able to stay home and write.  That will be a dream come true.  I know that is what we all would like to do. I heard that the more books you have on line, the more books you will sell.  I have five e-books on line and I am shooting for ten by the end of the year.  so I am continue to write as much as I can so I can support mys

I am rewriting before I even begin.  I wrote about 25 pages I thought I was moving right along, till I reread what I wrote and wondered who wrote that.  So now I am rewriting what I just wrote and had to toss out all of the 25 pages. I came up with better beginning, I hope and I think and then the next scene came to be and I think it will flow better My two days off are coming up and I plan on writing the scenes that I have planned out.  So I guess rewriting is rewriting wether you are rewriting when the book is finished or just starting you will rewrite.  I am excited about the new scenes and glad that I caught it before I went any further.  If one writes, one must rewrite.  I just like to watch the pages pile up and when I have to rewrite, then my stack of pages go down and I have to write more to catch up.  It is all part of the process. I maybe alone in this, but I feel alone in this world of writing.  I have no support network, and I write for myself first.  No one cares that I write.  Maybe if I start making money off of my writing people might take notice.  I write alone with my characters, and myself.  I will continue to write no matter what anyone says. Yesterday it was snowing out.  I could hear the sleet hitting the windows.  I was cold, tired and didn't want to go outside.  I was off work, and that was good.  The Problem was that I didn't feel like writing.  I wanted to curl up on the couch and do nothing.  I did write, even though I didn't feel like it. It was not easy.  I ended up writing about 10 pages.  that is pretty good considering that I didn't want to write at all. So wether I feel like writing or not, I write.  It is the only way to get the book written. Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday.  I know that it might not mean much to ones that don't have someone special in their lives, but it is not just about having someone special in your life, it is about friends, family, co-workiers.  The people you love.  It is one day, you can give someone a piece of cady or buy someone a cup of coffee, just because.  It is a way to show that you care, with no strings attatched.  Happy Valentine's Day to everyone.  It is a day to express your love to friends, family and co-workers. How does one know what to write.  Some say, write what you know.  Some say write what sells.  Some say write from your heart. I was having touble getting into my story, then out of nowhere, I came up a idea.  Where did that idea come from?  I have no idea but now I am going in the right direction.  I was stuck for a day or two, and I am no longer stuck.  I am very happy about that. I carry a notebook everywhere I go, at work it is connected to me.  I take it on break or lunch, so when an idea stikes me, I write it down. I am back writing in longhand again.  I was writing on the computer and was productive, but since my hours changed at work, I need to go back to writing in longhand.  I am taking my notebook to work with me and writing on my breaks and lunch.  So far it is working.  I need to adjust my writing as my life changes. I am working episode 4 of Zombie Zoo and not sure what all is going to happen so I think writing in long hand will be good to come up with new ideas.  I guess everyone goes through the what happens next.... My new position at work is longer hours and leaves me less time to write.  I am writing on my breaks and lunch.  But getting up early isn't as easy as it was.  I like my job and it is a good mood, but I still want to write, and will find a way to write more. I am sure there are others out there, struggling to find time to write.  I am now having that problem.  I am tired when I get home and then am sleeping longer so I don't have time to write before I go to work.  I know that this is the second week of my new job.  I was thrilled that I wrote 1,000 words the other day and it is a struggle to do that today. So how do you find time to write????? I wrote over 1,000 words yesterday and still writing.  I am back on track and working on the next episode of Zombie Zoo.  I am not waiting around for the third to be formatted. I have some good ideas for Episode Four and am excited about writing it.  I can not sit around and wait for episode three to come out. I am going to spice up Episode Four.  With a little romance and a lot more killing Zombies.  So I am planning to write at least 1,000 words a day or hopefully write more.  So things are going in the right direction. Each episode of Zombie Zoo is a bit longer.  Episode 4 will be longer. I am shooting for about 20,000 words.  Episode 3 is 8,000 words and Episode 4 I have a lot of ideas that I want to put in.  I am very excited but not sure where it is going or how it will end.  I need to decide soon.  Episode 4 might take longer cause it will be more detailed and more will be exposed.  The characters will be more in depth.  So I am excited. I have survived the first week of my new postion at work.  It has been a stressful week and I was a nervous wreck, trying to remember everything. That did not stop me from writing.  I brought a yellow legal pad with me and when I went to lunch and on my breaks, I had a notepad to write on.  It works.  I jotted down ideas and wrote.  No one asked me why I was carrying a legal pad and it is none of their business.  The important thing to do is to write, and that is what I did. I just completed editing Zombie Zoo No Rules/No Laws and am waiting to hear back on when I can get it formatted.  I am already working on the 4th installment.  So I am moving right along. Training at work, and switching positions at work, and the new hours messed with my sleep schedule, but I am back on track and doing quite well with my writing. I started a new position at work.  the hours are a bit different and a little more thinking than just making donuts.  I now have to think and pay attention and have to figure out what time to get up to write before I go to work.  I know that this will work out in the long run, but with training and stress.  It has taken a toll on my writing.  So I think we are all in the same boat.  Work or just stay at home at work.  I am at work, thinking I need to be home writing.  I know that that is not realistic.  So I am waiting for my two days off so I can get back to writing.  I need to proof read my third episode of Zombie Zoo and will be able to send it out to format in a week or so, and I am excited about that.  I  will never give up writing.  I need to adjust my writing schedule and write even when I am tired.  How do you manage life and writing???? http://zombiezoothebook.blogspot.com/ http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

I usually work nights.  This week I am working during the day.  My body does not know when to sleep.  I am surviving on Pepsi. Did that stop me from writing.  Nope.  I still go up early, even though I am tired.  I need to blog and write before I go to work.  The problem with working during the day is that it is more busy and more co-workers. I still have my notebook with me and am not afraid to write in front of others. So this will be a rough week and I may not get much written but I am still writing.  I will be tired and that is okay, as long as I follow my dream.  I am the only one that can follow my dream. Remember:  With GOD all things are possible.  That is keeping me going.  Keep writing and keep believing in yourself.  I think that I need another pepsi.  Have a great day
