COMING JUNE 1ST  I am thrilled to be sitting in on old pick up truck with blood smeared on the dash board.  I am ignoring the smell of rotting flesh.  I am ignoring the fact that I am sitting on dried blood.  People have died in this truck.  I don't care.  All I care is that the air conditioning is working and blowing cold air on me. I stepped into the hot humid air.  The sun pounded on the pavement.  Their seemed to be no relief in sight.  I stood in front of a pool of blood.  Looked like stomach contents or organs .  The pavement was covered in blood.  Bloated bodies litted the interstate.  Flies hovering over the bodies.  The sight of blood, organs and bloated bodies no longer bothered me. I have made a decision this week.  I have disconnected my cable.  No more tv for me.  This is huge for me.  I am addicted to tv.  I schedule my life around tv.  No more.  I can not write if I am worried about what I am missing on tv.  Do I really care what is going on in reality tv?  Not any more.  I am sitting here in silence, writing and so far so good.  I am publishing a series Me VS Zombies, 1 episode a month, sometimes 2.  Sales are picking up.  If I want to quit my job and write full time, I have no time for tv or any other distractions that might prevent me from writing. I had 2 days off and didn't get much writing done.  I hate to admit that.  Life happnes.  The Oklahoma tornados got to me.  all I could do is watch the news and feel for everyone that is effected by the tornados. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone effected by any and all tornados.  Then storms hit my area and I turned the computer off.  I didn't want to mess my computer up by lightening. Wow, that is really good, did I write that? I have been sick for a few days.  I am behind my word count.  I need to up my count.  I Don't have a plan on how to do that yet.  Just life walking, one puts one foot in front of the other. I am doing my best to promote my books.  I am not saying that I am right.  I am saying I throw things out and see what works.  What works for me, might not work for you. You can be published in one month.  In 4 Weeks Week 1:  Write a short story.  10,000-20,000 words.  Write 2,000 words a day.  You will have 14,000 words in a week.  Week 2:  Start Editting the story.  Either learn to format your file for amazon or schedule for someone to do it for you Week 3: Keep Editting your story.  Either do your own book cover or find someone to do it for you Week 4  Final Edits.  Once you get your book cover finished and your file formatted.  You are ready to publish on amazon  www.kdp.amazon.com   I had a friend do my cover for my first story of Zombie Zoo  www.amazon.com/dp/B006K7CVLS    The cover didn't cost me anything. Treat your writing as a business....Show up to write, even when you don't feel like it. There are no sick days when you are self employed. I plan to be self employed as a writer by the end of the year.  I have to show up at the computer to write, promote, and edit, even when I do not feel good. The weather is wacky.  I don't feel good.  I have a headache.  I am at the computer, cause my writing is my job, and I want to succeed. Are you treating your writing as a business or a hobby??? You must decide?   I am getting royality checks from amazon.  I want to recieve a check every month.  That means that I need to write, promote and edit, even when I want to stay in bed and watch a movie.  So think of writing as your second job and one day will be your main job.
