Finish The Book

I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am excited about finishing the book.  I know that I will have to do the rewrite, but this the rough draft will be finished.  Yesterday, after I wrote the 18 pages I wrote 5 pages in longhand.  I can't stop writing.  So I am getting closer to the end. How is your book going??/ checkout my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write Something Today

Page Quota

I just wrote 18 pages.  Sat in front of the computer for the past 5 hours. I had to move to my office chair, cause I was getting shoulder and back pains. Keep Writing

Don't Ignore The Voices In Your Head

I am working toward the end of my story and the other characters are screaming to get their story written next.  I have the title.  I see the characters and feel their pain.  It is not the story I wanted towrite next, but I think I am going to change my mind. I have already been making notes and listening to them.  I always have a paper and pen with me to jot down the ideas. I have 5 book ideas for the series and Iam not sure what to write next but I am leaning toward the characters that I screaming the loudest. How do you decide which idea to write??? How do you know if it is the right one? check out my other blog:// http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write Something today

How Hot Is to Hot in Your Love Scene??

I am not that comfortable writing love scenes in my books.  I have no idea if I am any good at writing them.  I know that I do not have to put love scenes in my book.  How hot is to hot??? How many love scenes should I put in???? I have no idea.  I do and will have some love scenes in my books, but I don't think they will be hot, but I don't want to bore my readers if my characters don't follow through. So yesterday I wrote a love scene in the bath tub, something about doing it in water, I think is romantic. I also try to have the love scene in different places, not just in bed. So how hot is to hot???? Let me know.  I don't want to bore my readers.... check out my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/   Write Something Today

Will Anyone Read My Book?

As I am writing my book, and I am excited about the story, I can not help but to wonder will anyone else like my story. At this point I have no idea of knowing if anyone will buy my book.  I will not know till I get it published and start promoting it. I know that I have different ideas and I think that is a good thing and I am pretty sure there are others out there that think like me and might get my story.  At this point I am not expecting to be a bestsellar, though that would be nice, I will be happy to just sell a few books and see what happens.  As you write, do you have the same question?  Will Anyone Read My Book??? How do you deal with this doubt and what keeps you writing??? I will write cause that is who I am. Check out my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write Something Today

Agents

I just took an online workshop about agents.  I found it very interesting and helpful tips.  It is a good thing to take some on line classes to learn what you can.  In this publishing time, I am not sure I want an agent. I am not saying I will not be querying the agents, but I do think that the series that I am writing is not for the New York Publishing World.  I already have 5 books in mind to write in this series and I do not want to wait over a year to find an agent and then another year to find a publisher. So I found the workshop interesting   If you are interested in an agent check out this website: http://www.agentquery.com/ You need to research all your options and what you really want.  The market is tight and you need to be opened minded as the publishing world changes and if you are looking for an agent.  Do your research and send out those query letters.. Never give up on your dream check out my other website: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write S

Reading For Pleasure

I find it hard to read for pleasure.  I read to find out how other writers write descriptions and how they create conflicts. So I can no longer lay in bed and read a book for pleasure, I have to look for details and see how other writers write.  I guess that is not a bad thing, but it does zap the fun out of reading.  I still have my favorite writers. Linda Lael Miller  Sherrilyn Kenyon and Rosanne Bittner. I save all of there books.  I read them and wonder how they do it and keep turning out those books year after year.  Do you read for pleasure or to learn??/ Who are your favorite authors? I Am A Writer

That is what I keep telling myself, as I keep writing and the days I don't write so much.  I tell myself that so I won't give up.  I see light at the end of the tunnel and I want to finish. I am past the half way mark of the book and I want to finish and I keep writing.  So I am keeping an eye at the end and thinking about publacation.  That is what keeps me going.  I know that I have a lot of work ahead of me but I am going to see it through. I don't really talk about my writing to anyone.  I jsut write.  I don't think it is any one's business and no one cares that I write or don;t write.  It doesn't effect anyone except me.  So I am going to write and get it published.  That is my dream and that is my passion.  It is what and who I am I am a writer. check out my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/    Write Something Today

Don't Stop Writing

The publishing industry is changing.  The internet is making our world change.  Not sure it is for the better. Book stores are going to be the of the past.  Will your grandchildren even know what a book is?? There are new ways of getting published.  New York Publishers are publishing less books, your options are dwindling.  Writers are self publishing their own books.  E-books are taking over with the Kinle and the Nook. So don't stop writing cause their are different ways to get published.  You just have to decide what is best for you.  there are ways to get your book published.  Look for other options and keep writing.  Never Stop Writing http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/   Write Something Today

Sagging Middles

I am half way through.  I am now on chapter 11  Yea!!!! I am very happy about that.  I have also have plotted the last 10 chapters so I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.  I know that I will have to rewrite it, but I am happy with the conflict and I am not going to change the plot, the plot points or the black moment.  I am going to see this one through. How is your book going???  Half way done?  Having sagging middles???? Let me know.  I like to plot out each scene ahead so I know where I am going.  Not to say that I am going to change things, but least I know where I am heading. So I am happy about my progress and looking forward to the rewrite.  I have been writing for the past 4 hours.  I write when I can and I am always thinking about my story.  For me that is the only way it is going to get written.  I tried writing just an hour a day, but that was not getting me anywhere.  I tried to write in longhand and then type it into the computer that just took forever s

Writing At Work

I have a paper and pen with me at all times.  I have them in my pocket.  I know that it might not work at every job, but it does mine.  My job does not need a lot of thinking.  I make donuts.  Not that exciting  but it gives me plenty of time to think and I take notes while I am on break I write down what I was thinking, while making the donuts.  I wanted a new title for my story and couldn't come up with one.  I thought and thought and then while I was on break I wrote my ideas down and by the time I got home, I had a new title  and titles for my next two books in the series. I also plotted out a chapter while I took my lunch.  So I had a good day at work yesterday.  I think I feel better when I am writing and thinking about writing.  Keeps me focused and when I came home, I wrote whatever was else I was thinking. So hopefully you don't have job that doesn't require much thinking, but I do get a long of writing done at work. So keep that pen and paper handy and jot

One Idea Leads To Another

As I am writing my current book, other ideas are springing up for other books.  I will have a series of books out of just one idea. Your Characters are screaming for their stories to be written.  Listen to them and jot down what tehy are telling you.  Don't stop writing yur current story, to start another one, create a file and jot down ideas for future stories. That is the fun of writing.  Ideas just pop up and you need to write them down or you will forget them. So I do not believe in Writer's Block.  Ideas come from everywhere.  I think one idea leads to another and the more you write the more ideas will come.  So if you are not writing, no ideas will come.cause you will not be thinking about your characters.  So keep writing and jot down those ideas. One idea will lead to another. Check out my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/   Write Something Today

Wrote 12 Pages

I couldn't sleep, so I got up and had a pepsi.  Turned on the computer and started writing.  So far I have written 12 pages in three hours and I am not finished yet.  Planning on writing 10 more pages before I am finished.  I took a break to blog and to check my e-mail. I was in bed and all I could do was think about my story, so I got up. Yesterday I was at work and all I could think about was my story.  I came home and wrote 6 pages, so things are going good. The snow has melted and I am looking for spring so I think that I am in a better mood.  I am more focused and want to finish this novel.  So today is a good day. I Need a Website

I know that I need a website.  I do have my domain name.  I think I am scared to take the leap.  What to put on it??  What picture that I should use?  Am I going to know how to update it??/  I am cheap and don't want to pay a lot..... I do have business cards with my blogs URL on it.  So what should I do about this fear that I have? I want to take the leap.  I have a book almost ready to start marketing, I have someone to help me with the website.  The monthly cost of having a website is weighing on my mind. So does anyone have any advice for me???? I need a website and fear is keeping me from it????  Not sure what the fear is, maybe people will just laugh at me. Agent or Not to Agent

That is the question.  I am taking a workshop about Agents.  I do have my doubts about finding an agent.  The problem I have with an agent is that they take 15% off the top and they get the check, before you do.  I have queried agents before, and I am not saying they are bad, but I like to keep my money so that is my major problem with that.  It is not as if an agent asked to represent me, so I don't have the experience with an agent to really knows the pros and cons.. So I do hope to learn something from this workshop to help me decide what to do when the time comes to get published. I am writing more than 1,000 words a day so I am doing good.  what is your opion of an agent.  Are you looking for an agent or doing the leg work on your own????   Let me know. Stop Wasting Time

I need to start taking every advantage of every spare minute to write.  I am writing a lot each day.  I went to the Denist with a friend.  and I had about an hour to wait.  I brought my clip board and blank pages and wrote while I waited for my friend.  I was quite proud of myself for not wasting time, while sitting there. I know that I watch to much tv.  I am obsessed with The Housewives of........I can't stop watching that show.  So I know that I should be writing when I am watching those shows.  What are you doing when you should be writing.  How are you wasting your time?  Let me know Check out my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write Something Today

10 Reasons Not to go to a Writer's Conference

1.  Do not have a plan 2.  Have no idea what genre you want to write 3.  Haven't written anything 4.  Want to rub elbows with published writers 5.  Like to hang out at bars and watch people 6.  It is expensive 7.  Seems like a good vacation 8.  Want to fill a void in your life. 9.  You have no idea what goes on during a Writer's Conference 10.  Want to pretend to be a writer.

Writer's Conferences

Now is the time when everyone is thinking about attending one.  I myself have attended 5 of the Romance Writers of America.  This year it is in New York.   June 28- July 1  http://www.rwa.org/ Romantic Times In Los Angeles April 6-10   http://www.rtbookreviews.com/ I beleive that everyone can attend a confernce if they start saving, now for next year.  It happens the same time every year, like Christmas.  Why does everyone wait for the last minute. 1.  Start saving ALL of youre change 2..  Stop buying lunch at work.  Brown Bag it 3.  Put 5-10 dollars back from every payday 4.  Stop buying coffee and soda at a convience store or coffee shop\ 5.  Stop & Think before you buy anything. These are a few things you can start doing now, for next year.  Yes Conferences are expensive but it is a good experience for every writer. I will expand on my experiences later. Writer's Block

Do you believe in writer's block???  OR is it an excuse??? I believe that it is an excuse.  There are writers who write books after books and then there are others who just talk about writing. I know that I don't have writer's block.  Yesterday I woke up and couldn't breath.  My throat was swollen and I couldn't breath.  So needless to say I didn't write.  I couldn't focus, so I just laid on the couch till I went to bed.  That is different than writier's block.  Some days I have to force myself to write, but most writers do that, I think. So don't use writer's block as an excuse, write through it. I know that I do not feel good this week, but I am still blogging and taking notes, though that I haven't made my word quota.   Check out my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write Something Today

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is just around the corner.  What are you going to do for the special person in your life. Send a card?  Candy?  Or A Romantic Dinner? Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday, though I am not sure why.  I am a romance writer, but I make a point to do something on Valentine's Day to let the one know how much I love and care about him. For thoses who are in other countries, Valentine's Day is one day of the year that, usually, the man buys his girl flowers, candy,  a card or takes her out to a romantic dinner.  Every woman waits to see what her man does for her.  When the man sends flowers to where she works, her co-workers are always jealous. The woman also does something for her man, but mostly it is the woman waiting for the man to do something for her.  Flowers are a big thing.  Flowers double in price for this day. I am going out for dinner with the one I love and I bought him some candy.  So wherever you are living.  Valentines Day is Febru

Once Again Weatherman Was Wrong

Once again we were supose to get 1-3 inches of snow and ended up with a foot of snow.  How can one occupation get paid so well for being wrong.  We write what is in our head, the characters that are talking to us, and we  can't even get published.  Our stories are better than the weatherman perdictions. So I am once again snow bound and no I don;t think the snow is pretty.  I don't like snow at all.  Plus it is like 4 degrees outside.  Where is Spring? Yesterday I wrote about 5 pages.  So I am moving right along. Hope you all are safe and warm from this winter weather. Story Moving Right Along

I wrote a chapter in two days.  That is good for me.  I think I am going in the right direction.  I am just writing till it is finished.  My right arm is sore.  not sure if it is from typing to much or the way I am sitting at the computer.  It is a muscle and is sore.  I am just typing through the pain. Are you sore when you are typing to much?  I am. Tell me what you are doing about it, if anything. More snow is on the way. Joy, Joy. check out my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write Something Today

Finding The Right Title

Do you think about your title??  Worry if it is the right title or the wrong title??? I have the worse time coming up with a title for my books.  I don't think I am very good at it. How do you know if the title is right for the book?? I have no idea.  I go with what I feel is right.  I know that the tjitle for the book is important so I go with what I feel is right. How do you decide if the title for your book is right.  Let me know. Check out my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Yesterday I wrote 12 pages.  I am moving along with the story.  I have been writing both in longhand and on the computer.  Just want to get the story written. It is supose to snow again.  I am so ready for spring Write Something Today

My Characters Surprise Me

I was wriring in longhand yesterday and my characters took another direction and stepped up.  Made the story take a turn for the better.  I never would of thought of that twist if I didn't let my characters do what they wanted to.  So I am happy with the new twist and I think that it will make a better story. Do you let your characters go in different directions or do you stick to your outline???? I have an outline but I am willing to change it if new ideas are better. I know how the story starts and how the story ends, but as I write I do try to be flexible, as long as I am still working to the end that I have already planned. Write in longhand or on the computer it is your choice as long as you write. Check out my blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write Something Today

Will My Book Ever Get Written????

As you are writing, do you ever doubt if the book will ever get written???   I do all the time.  Life gets in the way and then there is the rewrites.  Edits and the other ideas that keep popping in my head and I find I start writing a new story, leaving my other story half done. This is a cycle for me that I am trying to break..   This winter is cold and snowy.  I know that I live in the south but when is the snow going to stop.  Yesterday the weather channel said Snow Showers....We got 6 inches of snow.   What is a snow shower??? I know that I am getting off track, but this weather is getting my writing off track.  should I go to work or not.  Have to go and warm up my car, scrape windows when I should be writing and I am tired of being cold. So I just wonder if I am ever going to get this book written.  How do you finish your book when life gets in the way???? Check out my other blog: http://iamwalklingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write Something Today

Finding Time To Write

I know that it is hard to find to time to write.  My trouble is turning the tv off.  I have to admit that I am addicted to Bravo TV.  The housewives of........I have to watch those shows and I know that I should be writing. There is this guy who travels around the world and has a e-mail letter ever so often he sends out. http://chrisguillebeau.com/ He says that he does not watch tv, does not drive and does not make phone calls, maybe 2 a day.  that is something to think about.  He doesn't watch tv or talk on the phone.  there is alot of time opeing up right there.  He says:  Spend as much time as possible on the work you love. Guess that says it all.. Not sure I can give up the housewives of....   I am going to try it though what are you willing to give up to get that book written? check out my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write Something Today

The Writer's Life

The Writer's Life is not all that glamous.  I just spent the last three hours laying in bed, rereading my story and making notes for the rewrite.  I don't know how glamous that is, but that is the only way I can clear my head and concentrate on my story.  I find it hard to do that sitting at my desk, cause my mind wanders on other things I need to do.  So reading in bed, works for me.  I am very comfy and I feel that whatever works to get it done.  Where do you read at??/  Let me know.... I also got an e-mail from writer's digest and Donald Maass wrote a new book called The Breakout Novelist. He also wrote The Breakout Novel a few years ago.  It will be out Feb 28 If you want to preorder   go to http://www.writersdigest.com/       I learned a lot from his last book  The Breakout Novel so I am waiting for this book to come out. Hope you all have survived the last snowstorm and just think that the groundhog didn't see it's shadow, so spring is on the way

Writing Through The Winter Blues

I am waiting for spring, like most of  you are.  I hope everyone is staying home, and dealing with all the snow and ice.  In the meantime I am just going to write through the winter blues.  What else is there to do, when you are stuck in the house and surrounded by snow. I am just going to write.  In the winter, I am snowbound and then in the summer it is to hot to write, so there are always excuses of why not to write.  Look for excuses to write, and winter time is the best time to write, cause who wants to go outside and tonight it is supose be below zero.  So write through those winter blues. Stay Warm

I know that we are all effected with this snow storm in the United States and the bitter cold coming in.  My prayers are will all of you.  Stay home if you can and be careful.  This would be the perfect time to read a ggod book or write.  Not much to do when it is cold and snowy.  So check on your neighbors and co-workers and stay warm. I am going to work on my contest entry.  To cold to do anything else. Check out my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write Something Today What are you doing during this cold snowy day????
