E-Book Or Print Books

Every writer wants to hold their book in their hands.  I am one of those people.  I want to hold my books in my hands.

I also want to sell books.  My first book was a print book, through  I sold books to friends, customers from my day job and gave some away.  Later I put the book on  I would check my sales and be thrilled to have made a sale.  People that I didn't know were buying my books.  I am more happy and thrilled when someone buys my e-books that I don't know.

I then learned that I didn;t have to write 100,000 word novel, I could write 5,000 word story and publish it on Kindle.  If I write fast, I could write and publish a short story a month.  Wow! There is a thought.

To put the idea to the test in 2014 I wrote and published a short story every month, sometimes I wrote and published 2 E-Books.  I was totally focused on my writing this year.  I now have 48 E-Books published on Amazon.

I have written fiction and non-fiction.  I thought I was doing good writing and publishing monthly, then I discovered that others were writing and publishing monthly.  They are doing it the same way I am, just weekly instead of monthly.  So it can be done.

What about Print Books?

Print books are great, but they need to be longer, What reader is going to pay money for a print book plus shipping and handling that is only 30 pages long?

What I have done.  The first 12 short stories were a series.  Me VS Zombies I combined into one book Zombies Invaded My World

I then wrote the next 12 more short stories.  I thin combined those 12 stories into one book Zombies are the Future

I used Createspace

I also put the books as E-Books  You have have both.  E-Books & Print Books.

Write shorter E-Books while you are working on longer books.

You can have both.

The IMPORTANT thing is DO NOT pay someone where you have to buy large quanaties at one time.  With Createspace you don't have to buy any books.  You can buy one book or 1000 books.

It is called Print On Demand  POD  When you sell a book.  They print the book and ship it out.  You do nothing.

Having Print books is great for book signings or giving them away.

E-books is a great way for selling your book to the world.

It is your choice.

I choose both.  I do both Print and E-book.

I am living proof that one can have a writing career without going into debt.

Here on this blog I will write what I know and will hold nothing back.  I am tired of people scamming people out of their money.  DO IT YOURSELF.

Publish Your Book For Free

Do not go into Debt getting your book published.

I have 48 E-books on Amazon.

How did I do this in 3 years?

I wrote and published a short story every month, sometimes 2 a month.

I learned to do things that I didn't know how to do.

I learned to Format my files.  Kindle has it free on their website on how to Format, in PDF Form or E-Book form.

I learned how to format for Kindle and now I can publish on my schedule and don't have to wait for someone else to do it for me.

This is KEY to publishing on your schedule and not someone's schedule.

Kindle has a Kindle Book Converter.

You can create Book Covers for FREE.

Stop listening to others telling you that you can not do it yourself.

I am here to tell you that you do not have to go into debt to become a published writer.

By December I will have 50 E-Books on Amazon.  That was a personal goal for me.  I wanted to see if I could do.  I learned as I went.  I don't know everything.  I do know that it can be done.

The new year is coming.  What are you waiting for?  Learn something new and see your dreams become a reality.

Write From Your Heart

What do you really want to write?

A thriller?  A romance?  Something out of the box?  Something that others had said would never sell?

Don't write what you think will sell.  Write what you want and don't listen to anyone, except your heart.  You are the only one that can write your own story.  So write it.

You don't have to talk about your writing.  You don't have to tell everyone you see and meet about your writing.

Write your story.  Format your story for Kindle.  Publish your story on Kindle.

Get you story out into the world, you will be surprised that your story is good.  You will be surprised that others are buying your story.  You will be surprised that you are a writer and selling your story.

Stop listening to others.  Listen to your heart.

You are a writer.  Start living and acting like a writer

Writing Goals for New Year

This year I decided to have 50 E-Books published on Amazon by December 2014.

As of October of 2014 I have 48 E-books on Amazon.

I concentrated all year on writing and publishing an E-Book every month.  I have 2 E-Books to go and I know that is within reach.

This year has been a learning process.  I learned that I can write and publish quickly if I want to.  I learned how to be focus and determined to reach my goals and deadlines, even though I have no one to answer to except me.

2015 is around the corner.  I have new goals.  I won't be witing and publishing every month.  I want to write longer stories.  I now can sit at the computer longer.  When I started I could only write 100 words at a time.  Now I can sit and write 3,000 words in one sitting.

I started out as a Paranormal Romance Writer.  I then switched to Zombie Writer with my Series Me VS Zombies.

2015 I am going to go back to Paranormal Romance Writer.  I have 4 book ideas I want to write.  I have purchased the Book Covers and in my mind the stories are written.  I just need to get them on paper.

Although Zombies are in the stories, but also there will be spirits and ghosts along the way.

Romancing the Zombie Apocalypse  Is my new Brand.  I am no longer the 99 Cent Zombie Writer.

I changed the Brand to extend into other aspects of Romance and the Paranormal and keeping Zombies.

I am thinking outside of the box.

What are your goals for 2015????

It is a New Year--  New Goals-- New Beginning--

Create Deadline and Goals and see where your writing will take you.

Uplug from the World

I spent the last week with no phone, no internet, no computer.  I survived.  Could you?

I needed a break.

This past year I have published one or more short story every month.  I was drained.  I am 2 E-Books from having 50 E-books on Amazon.  That is my goal this year.  To have 50 E-books published on Amazon.  I am close, then my I started getting distracted.  I have like 5 books started.  I couldn't focus on one single story.  So what did I do?

I spent most of my time on facebook and twitter.  I wrote a little, but my word count was down and I was not getting anywhere.  I checked my sales all the time.  I felt like I was on a treadmill and going nowhere.

The week is over and I didn't miss anything.  I am more focused and I know what I need to do.  I made the goals for next year.  I am more focused and ready to write.

I just hit the publish button for Episode 32 of Me VS Zombies.

I have the next Episode started.

I am working on a Non- Fiction book.

I haven't checked my book sales this month.  I decided not to check my sales till the end of the month.  I am going to write whether I sell books or not.

I need to focus on my writing and not how many books I sold today.

I feel that writing is what I do.  My word count us up and I only have 2 more E-Books to reach my goal.  I know I can make my goal for the year.

I am looking forward to next year.  I know next year will be more productive.  I know that I can unplug anytime and survive.

Are you willing to Unplug?
