E-Book Or Print Books

Every writer wants to hold their book in their hands.  I am one of those people.  I want to hold my books in my hands.

I also want to sell books.  My first book was a print book, through www.createspace.com  I sold books to friends, customers from my day job and gave some away.  Later I put the book on www.amazon.com  I would check my sales and be thrilled to have made a sale.  People that I didn't know were buying my books.  I am more happy and thrilled when someone buys my e-books that I don't know.

I then learned that I didn;t have to write 100,000 word novel, I could write 5,000 word story and publish it on Kindle.  If I write fast, I could write and publish a short story a month.  Wow! There is a thought.

To put the idea to the test in 2014 I wrote and published a short story every month, sometimes I wrote and published 2 E-Books.  I was totally focused on my writing this year.  I now have 48 E-Books published on Amazon.  www.amazon.com/author/sharonleejohnson

I have written fiction and non-fiction.  I thought I was doing good writing and publishing monthly, then I discovered that others were writing and publishing monthly.  They are doing it the same way I am, just weekly instead of monthly.  So it can be done.

What about Print Books?

Print books are great, but they need to be longer, What reader is going to pay money for a print book plus shipping and handling that is only 30 pages long?

What I have done.  The first 12 short stories were a series.  Me VS Zombies I combined into one book Zombies Invaded My World www.amazon.com/dp/B00EPEPZDE

I then wrote the next 12 more short stories.  I thin combined those 12 stories into one book Zombies are the Future  www.amazon.com/dp/B00JLK7VHM

I used Createspace www.createspace.com

I also put the books as E-Books  You have have both.  E-Books & Print Books.

Write shorter E-Books while you are working on longer books.

You can have both.

The IMPORTANT thing is DO NOT pay someone where you have to buy large quanaties at one time.  With Createspace you don't have to buy any books.  You can buy one book or 1000 books.

It is called Print On Demand  POD  When you sell a book.  They print the book and ship it out.  You do nothing.

Having Print books is great for book signings or giving them away.

E-books is a great way for selling your book to the world.

It is your choice.

I choose both.  I do both Print and E-book.

DO NOT GO INTO DEBT TO BE PUBLISHED

I am living proof that one can have a writing career without going into debt.

Here on this blog I will write what I know and will hold nothing back.  I am tired of people scamming people out of their money.  DO IT YOURSELF.

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Writing Everyday

I am in awe of people who can write everyday.  I have heard that for years.  Write Everyday, even if it is just one word, one sentence or 1,000 words. I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...
