My friend sent me a copy of my book, but it wasn't in pdf format.  She is going to send my a final copy today or the next so I am excited.  I want to hold a copy of my book in my hands.  What a great Christmas present.  That is what I want for Christmas. Sounds Crazy but I am going to IHOP to celebrate.  International House of Pancake.  All the pancakes one can eat.  Doesn't get better than that. I also took my notebook to work and came up with some good ideas. There is always some reason not to write. Just recieved an e-mail from my friend who is formatting my book.  She also is editting a bit as she goes.  What a friend in deed. So I am excited that she is working on it and taking her time.  I am looking forward to holding my first novel in my hand.  What a great holiday season this year will be. I will have two books up this year and I know that next year I will have one more up.  I am excited on the story that I am working on, is coming along and excited to write the story. So the writing process is long and so is getting it to print.  I don't have a magic wind to get it on line.  So I need to go with the flow and keep writing no matter what. http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

Do you use character Charts???  Write down the color of their hair, eyes, background???? I haven't yet.  As I am writing the next book, I am have not done that.  As I am writing I am letting the characters talk to me.  As I was writing a scene, I came up with a flashback scene for both the Hero and Herione.  I am justing letting them tell me their story and back ground.  Eventually I will write it all down.  I want this story to come from the characters and let them tell their story.  I think it will be more fun for me and for the readers.  So I am going to keep writing just to see where the story goes.  I know how it ends and what will happen in the middle.  So I am not just winging it but I am giving the characters a little more room to grow, http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

Are you busy around the holidays?  They will be here before you know it.  I have already started a plan.  I started a plan at work to get everything done once I get busy at work. I came up with a plan to keep writing throughout the holidays.  Nothing is going to stop me from writing my story.  The holidays are not going to get in my way. I know that I am not that busy as some people are. I don't have a large family and I don't have a dinner to cook, but holidays are what they are. I wrote down what I want to do the month of November and December and where I want to be once the new year arrives.  I know that I need a plan, a deadline I place on myself.  That way I know where I am going.  If I have to play catch up or take a few hours off. I am excited about my new story.  Nothing is going to stop me, not even the holidays. Everyone has excuses on why they shouldn't do something.  Writing, there are always excuses not to write.  The last two days I had a headache and didn't feel good. I made a few notes but didn't write any pages.  I think that is a good reason to do nothing.  In reality, there are people out there pounding on the keyboard, even when they are sick. In my world, no one cares if I write or not.  I don't have any cheerleaders cheering me on.  I sit alone at my keyboard  and it is up to me if I write or not.  It is up to me, if I edit my chapters.  It is up to me to finish the book.  No one is holding a gun to my head to make me write.  So there should be no excuses. If I want the book written, I have to write it myself.  As someone says at work, "It is not going to get done by itself." I think that is funny when they say that. I went to blog before I went to work, and could not get on line.  I don't know how others do it, but it makes me crazy.  So I am late blogging. I am still waiting for my book to be formatted.  I am getting very anxious to get it on line. In the meantime I am working on my next book.  I take my notebook with me and find that I am writing down ideas when I am on break and lunch.  I just jot down whatever I am thinking and when I get home, I re read my notes and they are very useful. I like hot weather.  There is frost on the car windows and I haven't turned my heat on yet.  I have a small space heater that isn't doing much.  Just don't want to turn my heat on yet.  I do not like winter, at all.  I need to put my feet in ocean water, but don't see that happening. I have to admit that I didn't write yesterday and still haven't recieved my book formatted yet.  Still waiting and that is the hardest part of this process. On one of the cable channels they brought back Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman I like that show, even though it is a few years old, so I ended up watching two hours of that and that is why I didn't write, cause I watched another movie.  I need to turn the tv off, so I guess we all a day off to do nothing.  Guess I need to get back to my writing. http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/  

Last night I ordered my postcards for my book Always & Forever.  I know that I don't have the book formatted yet for http://www.createspace.com/ I figured that by the time I get the postcards, I will have the book formatted and then I have to order my proof copy.  This time I am not going to wait to the last minute.  One thing about being self published is that it is up to you and you can do whatever you want.  I like that feeling.  I don't have to wait for others, I can do it my way.  I talked to the lady that is formatting my book and hopefully it will be ready within a week or so.  I ordered my postcards from http://www.vistaprint.com/ It is so easy.  If I can do it you can do it.  http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

  I started my novel and then realize that I needed to plot first.  So now I am working on my outline.  I like to know where I am going and what is going to happen. I am not a panster.  Nothing wrong with a panster but I need to have an outline and know my plot points so that is what I am working on. I am always carrying paper and pen with me everywhere I go.  I am going to finish this book within three months, that is my dead line.  At least the rough draft.  If I want to be a writer, then I need to write.  No matter what. Find five minutes here, ten minutes there.....it all adds up. I wrote the first chapter at work, on breaks and my lunch so it can be done. I typed in my handwritten pages into the computer, and I am moving forward.  I am still waiting for my book to be formatted, but I can not sit around and wait for that, I need to move forward.  I need to work on the next book and get that one finished.  I still find it hard to realize that I wrote 2 books this year.  I am now working on the third book.  All it takes is sitting down and writing.  Not watching tv or being on the internet.  It is all about choices. this weekend I took my legal pad to work and I wrote a rough draft  of the first chapter of my next book.  I wrote on my break and lunch.  I jotted down ideas as they came to mr. If you don't think that you can get something written in fifteen minutes you are wrong.  If you are in the right mind set you can.  I am not that socialable so when I am on break, I am by myself.  I sit alone and talk to no one and I am not embaressed  that I write and will write in front of others.  so find a notebook and carry it with you wherever you go.  Write whenever you can.  You will finish that book. http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

I wrote 2 books in a year.  The Book  My Bible--My God  www.createspace.com/3614885 My newest book  Always & Forever which is being formatted.  That took me 6 months to write.  It is possible.  I always wondered how people could write 3-4 books a year.  I am beginning to see how it can be done.  . I turned the tv off.  I stayed off line.  If it is important, they will call me.  I spent hours alone and wrote.  It is that simple.  I wanted to get this book done, so nothing else mattered and now the book is done, and I e-mailed it off to be formatted. Yesterday I stayed up all night and finished edititng my book.  I didn't want to, I was tired, I drank pepsi and I didn't stop till I was done and it was worth it. I write cause I have no choice.  I have stories that need to be written.  It is what I do. Next Month I will have my second book up on line, if all goes well.  I am doing a little editting at a time, before I go to work.  Doing a little is better than doing nothing at all. Here are my five Editing Tips: 1.  Use Your Spell Check & Grammar Check 2.Print Out Hard Copy.,,,,Go through word for word, looking at every comma, every period 3.  Go back to the computer and make the corections in your manuscript. 4.  Go back and use the Spell Check & Grammar Check 5.  Print Out Hard Copy.  Re-read for miss spelled words.      Example:  caring-carrying,,,there-their,,,,whose-who's 6.  Let your manuscript sit for a few days, Then repeat till you think your manuscript is ready to publish http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

I don't know about you, but my magazines seem to muliply.  I have books and magaizines on the floor so I am starting to start through all of the piles, while I am thinking about my writing.  I found my floor under all the magazines.  I am still thinking of my writing as I am cleanining. I watch that show hoarders and I then start to clean, cause I don't want my house to end up like theirs.  I know how something like that could happen and feel for those people.  I know that I will always have clutter, but some of it has to go. I edit for about five hours and am very happy about the progress that I am getting.  My writing is nothing exciting right now, but the editing has to be done. There is no short cut to writing.  Writing is the easy part for me.  I can write, write, write, but the problem with me is rewriting and editing.  I like to write.  I write everyday, and have no problem putting words on paper. It may not make any sense to anyone, except me.  Now I have a story finished.  About 250 pages.  I just spent five hours in front of the computer line editing.  I am forcing myself to do this.  If I want this book published I have to do this.  It is not fun for me. I look at all the pages and lines I have to go through, but I am trudging along.  I have a deadline ande will be finished with most of it my the end of this month.  I need to keep at it.  A page at a time.  That is all I can do.  Parts of writing I enjoy.  Some I don't.  I guess that goes with every job.  No job is perfect.  So I will continue to line edit till it is done, whether I like it or not. I am sorry that I am no longer an interesting person.  Not that I think I was very interesting before.  Line edititng is not fun.  Not much to talk about when I am line editting.  It is very tedious and seems to be taking forever like I am not getting anywhere but it has to get done. So that is what I have been doing.  It has to be done.  I am also working on the next book.  So bare with me as I polish my book and hope it will be published at the end of the year and I can hear your comments.  So how far along is are you in your writing???? I started the next story in The Jordan Place Series. I am line editing slowly so I will catch all my mistakes.  I am very excited about having the first novel published, and then having the second novel published. I think it is good to have goals and deadlines to keep me on track, gives me something to think about at work and then to see my dream come to is a bit overwhelming. The only way to finish a book is to write everyday.  I know that you have heard this before.  There are people who are writing while you are watching Dancing With the Stars.  There are people you are following their dreams while you are watching televison thinking about your dreams. Make a goal set a deadline and get busy.  No one cares about your dreams and goals except you. I am now editing line by line, word by word.  Boring.  Something that I have to do.  I know that you are tired of hearing about my editing woes.  I am not complaining, it is a fact of writing.  I feel this is something no one talks about.  Everyone talks about outlining, plotting characters but rarely about editing and looking at every word to see if it is necessary.  So once the book is written I think it is only the beginning to the end.  One needs to look at each word and each comma and period.  No way of getting around this unless you have someone to do it for you, even then you need to look at your book, cause it is your book Back to line editting. http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/  

The hours of editing are starting to pay off.. I know that you have heard this before.  Back up your files.  Back up your files.  I took my computer in twice in one week.  They asked me if I had things backed up.  I had no idea what they were talking about.  When I got my computer back all my pictures were gone.  How did that happen????? So I bought a flash drive.   I had no idea what a flash drive was.  Someone told me to back up my file that I was working on, not just on a disk, but on a flash drive, cause a disk can get ruined.  So I stepped up and bought a flash drive.  I plugged in in the usb port (Think that is what it is called)  It worked.  If I can not this so can you. I know nothing about computers.  I turn it on and hope for the best, sort of what I do with my car.  I do listen to others who I respect and trust and they are leading me in the right direction.
