A Writer's Life

Sorry I have been MIA....Been busy at work...and my writing has suffered, but I am back on track....I have three manuscripts that I need to rewrite and get published, so this year I am hoping to focus on my writing and nothing else. I just want to start submitting and write. I think I am more sane when I write. I need to focus...So I hope everyone had a great holiday and can now sit down and get busy. This could be your year!!!!

The new year is approaching and will be before we know it. The holidays will be over and the cold dreary winter will be upon us. Set goals now, so when the snow and cold comes you will be prepared. While shopping for others, buy yourself something.. a notebook..pens...ink for your printer,, stock up and be prepared and excited about the new year...Set goals get an extra calendar to mark your progress.... You can do it................

I just watched Julia & Julie...What a great movie!!!! I found it so motivating and inspirational. It is more than a cooking show. Julia Child didn't sart cooking till in her forties. So that says you are never to old to do what you want to do... Follow your dreams. Julie decided to cook 564 recipes in 365 days...Who would do that??? She started a blog and kept blogging even though she knew no one is reading it....Kinda like what I am doing...She did what she wanted to do...She followed her love and passion........Need to watch this movie it is great to get you motivated................. I can not wait to the new year and hopefully I will be able to keep up with my writing goals. I hope you all have a Merry Christams and remember that JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.

I have hit a wall. I have only written about a page a day. That is so not acceptable to me. I have no energy. I know the holidays are here, and I am twice busy at work. I have no excuse I haven't been writing this week and am tired. Is it the new year yet?????/

The new year is around the corner. Have you made your goals for the new year. I make daily goals, weekly goals, monthly goals and yearly goals. though I don't always make my goals I do think it is a good idea to make goals, whether in writing or other personal goals....

I just finished a book. I layed in bed and read a book....very relaxing. I am starting to reading more. In my writing class, I was asked to find some conflict in a book that I have read...I haven't read that much since I am working, writing or on the internet or before I start my class in Feb. I am going to read more and be ready. I like to read, but If I am reading...I am not writing...A delimma....I am working on two books and have big plans for the year2010. I need to get busy...What are your goals for the new year????

I write in my car. I write in bed. I write at work. I have ideas in my head and needs to get it out. So that is what I do. I get up early before I get to work. I write in the car before I go into work. Not sure if this is normal, but the words just flow out of me, no matter if the words make sense or not. So let me know if you have this sam problem

I write in longhand. I came up with a new story idea. It is not a romance, not sure what it is, maybe a sci fi or horror, with a romantic element. I am writing it in long hand in a spiral notebook. I have 20 pages so far. It is just spilling out of me. I am still working on my contemporary novel, so I have been busy writing, in longhand.

Why do I write? I would rather be lying on the couch eating chips and dip than sitting at the computer typing in my hand written pages, but I do. I will never say that it is easy. It is hard and I do it even when I am tired or don't feel good. I get up three hours before I go to work so I can write. Why? I have no real answer for that except that is what I do. I write. it is not easy, but it is what and who I am

I have been averaging about 6 pages a day. My goal is 10 pages a day. I know that I have missed my goal but I strive for 10 pages but am happy for what I get. It is good to have goals no matter how small or large. Keeps me focused. I think that it keeps me sane also. I have someting to think about, during the day. What is your goals for the day, week month or the new year????/

Hope everything had a great Thanksgiving. I have rewritten the first chapter of my novel, since my writing class. I learned a lot and now have more conflict in my book. I am excited about my rewrite. I have a new calendar for the new year. I am going to keep it next to the computer and write in it each day, on what I did for writing, whether it is blogging, reading writing or typing. Everyday I will do something to do with writing. I am working on two books and will do that each day. I am looking forward to the new year and to see my book finished. That begins rewriting. I will do a lot of rewriting and that is okay. It will only make my book better.. Are you writing today?????

I got up and was ready to write. As I was typing my hand written pages into the computer, I did something and it locked up. I couldn't do anything. So I had to turn my computer off and hope for the best. I turned it back on and all is well. Then I went on the internet and then I could only check my e-mail and not go to any websites, so I turned off my computer two different times and now all is well. that is how my day is going. Something is always going wrong, I just went with the flow and went on...............

I haven't been on line for the past few days......Busy at work. I did write about ten pages in longhand....Hope everyone has a great holiday and don't forget to be grateful for what you have

I did my finally lesson this morning. My writing course is complete and now I have no excuse to start writing my rewrite. I got really good feed back and I think I am a better writer than I think I am. So I am setting a goal of ten pages a day, no matter what. Not sure I will reach that goal everyday, but I am going to try. I am going to take another writing course in February. So I will have two months to get busy and to write.

I get up three hours early to write, before I have to go to work. It the only time of the day, that I am fresh, awake and my mind is clear I just did my two lessons for my class. I have three more lessons to do. So you do what you have to do. Others are at the key board, why not you? So this is what I do. I write and if I have to get up early to write, then I will. I do feel better after I write and when I get to work, I feel that I did what I really do and my job is just to pay the bills

I have been doing my writing class, and I now am deciding to start another rewrite. I have already done an outline for the first six chapters. I have 5 more lessons and then I am done and have learned alot already. So I guess this is a good thing. when I finish the class I will start rewriting and my goal is ten pages a day...I am determined to finish this novel.....

I went and saw 2012. If you like diaster movies, you will love this movie. It is about 2 1/2 hours long. Three hours with previews. I have nothing but praise for this movie. You have to see it on the big screen. Don't wait till it comes out on dvd. I forgot how much I liked going to the movies. I just don't like paying for the movie and popcorn. The popcorn and soda was more than the cost of getting in. It is well worth the price. Go see it!!!! I didn't write Sunday. I went to work and then to the movies. I did get up at midnight and did two writing assigments on my course. Needless to say, I have a whole lot of rewriting to do. The class is on Conflict which my book is lacking, so this is really helping. I am so glad that I took the class. Don't be afraid to learn or take a class on the internet. It is well worth it and though I will now have to rework my book, it will have more conflict and depth than ever and it will be publishable.

Wow! I have a follower!! Thank you. I do try to blog once a day or every other day and that is not always easy. Thanks for following me. I was writing in long hand and was stuck. I then moved onto another manuscript that I am working on, and right before I had to go to work, I figured out how to fix my problem in my other manuscript. So when I got to work, I jotted down my ideas,so I am now good to go and get busy on that scene. So you never know where or when the idea would come from. I told my boyfriend that I think about my writing before I fall asleep, and then when I wake up, I have ideas to work on. I think he thought I was a bit nutty, but it does work. I am always thinking about my manuscript. So never stop! Never give up! One never knows where or when the ideas will come......

Wow! Someone left me a commet on my blog, here. I was excited. That is a good thing. Now I put my writing goals on line, I will now have to follow through. So I think that it is a good idea to write down your goals, etiher on-line for the whole world to read or just in a notebook for yourself. It will keep you on track.. I believe in journaling. I do it all the time. Write it down and get it out of your system So good luck with your goals............

We all need feed back, either good or bad. I am taking this writing course on line and the feed back has been positive with some good advice. So I now know that I am a good writer, not as bad as I thought I was. I am still writing in long hand. I will always do that, even though it will take longer to get into the computer, but this is my method and I accept it. So I am writing ten pages aday. After my writing course, the month of December and January I will finish the second draft of The Perfect Christmas and will start the major rewrite. I am commited to this and will finish the book. It is good to get advice from someone that does not know you. My friends and family think I am brillant. Then someone else reads it and shows me what I need to do. So this is good. It is not easy, writing and working. Checking e-mails, blogging, how does one find time to write. Carry a notebook with you. Get up earlier. write on breaks and lunches. Those are a few ways. I get up early. I get up at about two hours early. I am at my best, right when I get up. I go to work and think about writing. My job is more physical than mental. Remember that no one cares if you write or not. It won't effect their lives. It is all up to you. You need to do it for yourself. Myself, I have to write. I would love to ly on the couch and eat chips and di, but I hear voices and have to put them on paper. I have to write. so I write and don't really care what people think of me in the break room when I am writing down a thought. You can do it. You need to do it for you and you will be better for it. I am still doing my writing course and I think I need to get over my self doubt. I am getting good feedback. I am doing my lessons and am applying the lessons to my WIP. I am very excited about this, cause I feel that I am going in the right direction and will be able to finish my novel. So no matter what, you need to keep writing and have faith in yourself. I know that it is not always easy, but you need to just keep writing.

I am getting some good feed back from my writing course. Maybe I am not a bad writer after all. I guess no one really knows if they are good or not. I am not giving up, even if I never get published. But I do know that I will, cause I will not give up. I write everyday, no matter what. The writing course is going well and I am waiting for my third lesson.

I got up early, before I went to work, thinking my next lesson would be on line....I was wrong. I am excited about this writing course. Keeps me focused on my writing throughout the day. I was real nervous when I did my first assignment, but the response was good. I do hope you all are writing.....

Today is the first day of my on line writing course. Yes I did figure out how to sign up sign in and I did my first writing assigment this morning and e-mailed it. Maybe I am not as stupid as I feel sometimes. I do think this will be a good writing course. The first lesson made me think. www.terryspear.com She has a few courses and it doesn't cost that much. I know that I do need some help and I do hope this will help. All I can do is keep writing, cause that is what I do...

I spent the last two hours lying in bed, reading a book. Sometimes I just need to do that. It is still raining out. I will now write in longhand so the day won't be wasted. Hope everyone has a Happy Friday!!!!

I wrote the last scene of my novel and then I wrote the last chapter, now I am writing the novel backwards. I have the first ten chapers in the computer, so I am writing backwards to avoid the sagging middle. Keep checking in and I will tell you how that is working for me............

You are never to young or to old to learn something new. I am learning something new everyday on this computer. I am going to attempt to take an on line writing class. I think I can do it. Three lessons a week for a month...So I will busy the month of November. Terry Spear is doing the class....check out her website. www.terryspear.com I know I need help, but using this computer somethimes is not a good thing. I do not like the holidays and I am busy at work during the holidays and then I am so tired...So I am going to take this writing class so I have something to think about and help me get through the holidays and hopefuly will learn something along the way............

I finished my e-book. I need to reread it and check for spelling and grammar. then I need to figure out how to put it on the website and what should I call my website. I need to figure these things out. Then I will be on my way. I will figure it out. I need to get PDF Format, and then I will sell my e-books on line. I also started another e-book, About my journey to finding God. It doesn't have to be 400 pages, so I am going to write till it is finished. I will then sell it for down load. It is good to have goals. Something to focus on. Plus I am still working on my novel to send out to New York. I will be published, it just a matter of time.

Vacation is over and I haven't had that much time to write. I did take my notebook with me so I can write on my breaks and lunch. My e-book is almost done and I will just have to fugure out how to get it on my website and write a sales page. I am also writing an e-book about my life, since it has not all been that stable, so I am writing everyday, even if it is on a napkin or notebook.

My vacation is over and I have to go back to work. I just wrote the prolouge and the last scene of the book...Yea! So I feel that I am on the right track. I am going to write till the book is finished. I have my 25 word pitch and will still be writng in long hand, though I don't reccomend that method. Do whatever you need to do, to write.. I am still writing on my e-book and I will have to find someone to help me put it on line. I don't know how to cut and paste? Can anyone give me a quick course in that. So keep writing.................

Ever hear of the phrase High Concept? It is the 25 word pitch that you pitch to your editor or agent. I have been hearing this phrase alot and so I thought it must be important. Lori Wilde has written a workbook Got High Concept? I ordered it and came up with my 25 word pitch. I would reccommend this to anyone. Has good info and makes you think. Her website is www.loriwilde.com I also read Scott Eagan's Blog, he is an agent and RWA pproved. He talks about High Concept a lot, So you might want to think about this while you are writing your book, or you will have to rewrite the book if you figure out a better angle..... My vacation is almost over. I did set goals and I accomplished the goals. I think it is a good idea to set goals.. I typed in all of my pages in longhand. I worked on my e-book. I have 20 pages written so far. I am shooting for 50. I think that PDF Format will make the print larger so I might have more pages than I think...Anyone know anything about PDF Format??? Not sure how to go about that. Please give me your advice.... I haven't learned anything from this process of typing my longhand pages into the computer, cause I am still going to do it. Later this morning I will be writing in longhand and will have to start the whole process over..But least I am writing and that is what I want to do.........

I got my hand written pages into the computer. It is not the time to take a breath and take a break. It is the time to keep writing. Everything is fresh in my mind and I am able to move on and have new ideas. I am going to write the proloue and the last scene of the book. I know that editors don't like proloues but I do, so I am going to write one. Not sure If I am going to use it, time will tell... I watched The Proposal, with Sandra Bullock.......Very good movie...romantic comedy.

Wow, I just finished typing in 100 hand written pages. That is what I have been doing for the past three mornings, for about 5 hours every morning. Not sure I would reccommend this method to anyone, cause I wouldn't say it was fun. But in order to write you have to sit in front of the computer and type, so that is what I did. Now I can move forward to finishing the book. That is my goal. I already have some good ideas for the next two books in the series. I am foused and devoted to this. All I can do is to keep writing and keep typing. That is the only way to finish the book and to get published, I need to work on my synopsis and query letter. this is alot of work, but I will be published and I do hope you will follow me on my path to publication...............

I have been up since Midnight....I typed 15 more pages into the computer and realize that I have a lot of work ahead of me. Lots of rewriting and editing, but I do like this story and already have plans for the next novel in the series........I have a lot of work ahead of me, but this is what I do.... I will be watching Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, later and Land of The Lost is out today...A good week to be on vacation................

I have this week off. I was up at midnight, and typed in 20 pages that I have written in long hand. I then watched two movies. Bride Wars and Changling...Both were really good movies. I have a lot of typing ahead of me. So that is what I am going to do this week. It will rain all week and that is fine, cause I don't plan on leaving the house....Hope your writing is going well also....

It is raining out, pouring out and I have a terrible headache.... I had to drag myself to the computer cause my head is throbbing and my teeth hurt... Even though I don't feel like it, I am at the computer and do what I need to do.....I downloaded a great e-book How to write a great query letter by Noah Lukeman......It is free.... Look on Amazon Shorts.....I am debating on if I should look for an agent or just send out my recent novel............Need to decide......

I get up a couple hours earlier, before I really need to, before I go to work. It is quiet, and I have time to think. I pour myself a pepsi, and write for one or two hours before I go to work. It may not work for everyone, but I think if you do it, each day it will be easier for you. I do it and now I just wake up. Today, I wrote four pages before work and now I am blogging. I write that is what I do.............

Just wanted everyone to know that I figured out to get access to my writer's group on Yahoo. I kept clicking and a week later I figured it out, not real sure how, but I did it....Now all I have to do is figure out how to get PDF format...When I get my e-book finished, I'll need it, and I'll figure it out...............Never give up!!!!!

I didn't write today. I cleaned my house today...I am so tired that I didn't feel like writing, so I cleaned that needed to be done...I am blogging so I guess I am writing.......Sometimes I want to get off the internet, cause it just doesn't work for me.........I guess it is all trial and error, just like writing.........so maybe I will write more today.................

Does one really need the internet to get published? Does one need to join yahoo groups to talk to other writers? I ask this, cause it seems like I can not do anything right on the internet. I can not pay my credit cards on line...I can not join a yahoo group cause I can not figure out how to do it. Sure I get e-mails and they tell me how to do it, but does it work??No!....So I guess I will just remain alone and write my stories and see what happens...As you know I lost my blogspot that went into cyber space and people told me that it can not happen........But it does to me.........So I will keep writing and see what happens.................

I can't sleep at night. I have been up since ten at night and now it is three thirty in the morning. I typed in 15 pages of my long hand into the computer and put about five pages into the computer on the e-book that I am working on. I have been sitting in front of the computer for almost 6 hours and now I am on the internet. This is how I spend my time off . I write, even though I have no idea how to use a computer. I tried to join a yahoo group and can not figure out how to do that. So I guess I will just sit and write. I need a website and will have to find someone to help me out there. So when I am not at work, I am writing, cause that is what I do..............

I want to write. I want to be published. I have be looking at other sites, where you can make money by adsense. It all seems easy enough but if I put all my time into article writing, then I won't have time to work on my novel. And my characters want and need to be heard. So I decided to work on my novel. i just spent an hour on www.hubpages.com deciding if I wanted to do that. I am not sure yet. It is free and doesn't cost anything, but I am confused. So I guess I have to decide what is imporant to me. This blog site is imporant to me and writing my novels so I guess I made my decision, but I will keep looking Keeping my options open........

I know that I am always tired, especially when I get off work...I have notebooks, and paper and pens through out the house. I wake up and make notes, so I won't forget. It is to easy to lay around and think about writing...Thinking about writing will not get me published. Surfing the internet won't get me published. So the only thing that I am going to get published is to write and send it out. Doesn't matter how tired I am I must write to get published.

I write everyday and have about 4 projects going on. Not sure if that is a good idea, but I have a lot of stuff in my head that needs to be put on paper. I have no excuse not to write, cause I can work on one of the projects. I have no excuse. So I am focused. When I am at work I am thinking about writing. I go in my truck on my breaks and lunch and write in my notebook. So if you have a lot of ideas, just write them down, and keep on writing.........

I am now waking up, and having to get up and write down what I was dreaming or thinking. I need to get those ideas out of my head so I can go back to sleep. I was up for more than an hour, writing before I could go back to bed. So I am not sure if this is normal, but if I don't get up, when I do get up, I forget what those thoughts were. So now I just get up. So you get up in the middle of the night to write? Let me know.

I have been up since 11:30pm and now it is 3:30am. I have rewritten the first ten chapters of my novel. The only problem is that Chapter 4-10 are all written in long hand. So I am now in the process of putting it all in the computer. It has to be done. I would pay someone to do it, but no one can read my writing. Also I do some rewriting and editing while I am typing. But I will get it done. I believe in this book and know that it will be published.. One way or the other. So get up early, stay up late what ever you have to do to get it donw. Just think that when you are not writing, someone else is. When you are not sending out your manuscript, someone else is. I am on a mission and I do hope you follow me onto my path of publication. It won't be easy, but Writing is My Passion.

I know nothing about computers and this proves it. I had a blog and then I lost it. So this is my new one. I live to write and right now I am tired and hoping this blog will not be lost............
