I finished another episode of Zombie Zoo.  I sent it off to get formatted.  I should get it sometime next week.  I wrote through the holidays and finished the second episode.  It can be done. If your goal for the new year is to get published, I want you to know that it is possible.  I am living proof. I am editing my second episode of Zombie Zoo.  I always print out a hard copy and reread it and make corrections on paper and then go to the computer.  This time I started on the hard copy and decided to turn my computer on.  Finished on the computer.  I still printed out a hard copy.  I will reread it and then make changes onto the computer.  I know I am wasting alot of paper and ink, but this is what I do. The new year is upon us.  I have three e-books on line and two in print books.  I sold a few books over the holidays to customers at work and people are buying my books on line. I opened a savings account to put all the money I make from my book into a seperate account.  Why??/  I don't want my writing money to get lost with my money from my paycheck. Also it will make tax time more easy.  I will know excatly how much I made and the date of deposit and them my reciepts will be in an envelope for what I spent on my writing.  It is simple to keep track of money you made and money you spent throughout the year, if you put a little effort into it.  You do not want to make the IRS mad at you.  Pay your taxes. So I think I am ready for the new year.  I am very excited about 2012. Get organized and keep keep track of the money you make during the year for your writitng. Yesterday I took the time to organize and throw things away.  Tax time is around the corner.  Now is the time to find everything.  Get those reciepts in an envelope and start saving reciepts when 2012 come rolls around in a few days. Doesn't matter how you organize things.  It is your choice.  I know this older gentleman.  He was wealthy and he kept all of his reciepts in an old shoe box.  That was his system.  Everything was in the shoebox.  When tax time came he took the shoe box to his tax man.  It worked for him. I keep my reciepts in an envelope.  My aunt owned a restraunt.  She had a piece of wood with a nail pounded in it.  She stuck all her reciepts on that nail.  When her accountant came she just handed him the piece of wood.  It worked for her. All that matters is that you save all your reciepts of what you spend and what you make.  It is that simple. It helps if you have a tax person that you trust.  I go to the same tax person every year.  He supports my caree

Ever since I have put my Zombie Zoo  on line.  www.amazon.com/dp/B006K7CVLS    I have been carrying a notebook to work, and I don't care who sees me write or what others think.  I carry my notebook everywhere I go.  On breaks, on lunch.  Once a co-worker asked me if I was writing a book and I proudly said yes.  That shut him up.  He wasn't ready for that answer. I jot down ideas or just think and write down what I am thinking.  It works, when I get home I have been thinking all day that I am ready to write when I get home.  I am more productive.  I have other story ideas written down and I am not wasting time. I want to thank everyone for making this year one of the best years ever.  I am so grateful for all your support. I wrote 2 books and one short story this year. I came to the conclusion to stop checking my sales.  I need to write the next story.  I already have the second episode of Zombie Zoo written and proof reading it and have plotted out Episode 3.  No matter what you have for sale or how many books you are selling.  You still need to write the next story.  Doesn't matter if it is a holiday or you are sick or something comes up, you need to write the next story. 2012 is my year for writing.  My year for my sales to soar.  It is now or never for me and nothing is going to stop me.  I get up early to write.  I write at work.  I write when I get home from work. I had lunch with a lady that bought 20 of my books.  She is giving them as Christmas gifts.  I met her for lunch and sat at the table and signed 20 copies of my book.  It was a moment that I didn't want to end.  I always dreamed of signing my books and my dreamed came true.  How cool is that???? The lady also bought my lunch.  Being a writer is the best thing.  I will not stop writing or stop publishing my writing.  I need to get out of my bubble and let the world know that I am a writer.  I was at work, and writing in my notebook.  a co-worker came in the breakroom and asked in I was writing a book.  I know that he was being funny, but I said, yes I am and that shut him up.  Then he started asking me questions about my writing and I told him.  He was surprised that I was a writer, but he was also impressed. So don't be afraid to admit that you are a writer or be afraid to tell people that you are a writer.  You never know where it will lead. I have been selling books this weekend.  I have been handing out business cards to whoever I meet.  I am not an outgoing person.  I don't like to be noticed or talk to people.  If I am going to be an indie writer I need to promote myself.  So I have my business cards and hand them out.  I work in a bakery and I talk to my customers that I see everyday and give them my business cards.  A lot of people are impressed that I wrote a book.  No one has said anything bad or acted like I was stupid. One of my customers ordered 14 books on line and then she bought 5 books from me and had me autograph them for me.  I put in the postcards I had ordered and business cards in the book.  She is giving them as Christmas presents and was thrilled to know a writer.  My dream has come true.  I am a writer.  I am selling books.  I am autographing books and I am not stopping.  2012 is going to be my year and I will write another book and get it on line. I just wrote 5,000 words.  I woke up, got up and started writing.  I had what I wanted to do and didn't stop till I finished.  So I am feeling pretty good.  I know that I haven't written that much this week.  I have been making notes and thinking.  This morning, I got up and knew what to write.  So now I am back in the writing mode. I have been slacking in my writing this week.  Yesterday I woke up with a terrible headache, so I didn't get much writing done.  I am still getting over my excitement of selling my books, and that is no excuse.  I am trying to be honest with you, that no one is perfect, and everyone has to find their wiritng rythem, cause there is no right way to write and no wrong way.  we all have to find our own schedule. I am waiting for my short story, e-book to be formatted and hopefully I won't have any problem uploading it.  Then in 2 months I will have another short story out.  I will have 6 short stories up in 2012. I didn't get much writing done today, cause I was to excited about my sales and I kept checking my sales report.  That is never a good idea to keep checking it, doesn't get you anywhere. So now I have to get serious again and get back to get writing.  So you never know what is going to happen, so you never should give up.  It snowed to today.  The weather channel said rain and it snowed.  Not happy at all.  I hate snow.  So I need to get back to writing. I am not sure this is a blessing or a curse, but I can not stop writing.  I find myself writiting at work, jotting down notes and ideas.  I come home and rewrite my notes.  I am constantly talking to my boyfriend about getting my books up as e-books.  I am making him read what I write and all I can think about is writing.  I have more stories in my head that I will never have time to write them all. I have to admit that I have not done anything to promote my newest book.  I know that I should, and I will, but with work and then thanksgiving and now Christmas, I have been busy, not to mention that I just wrote a five thousand word short story. I have been busy, but that is no excuse.  I know that other writers stress over promoting their book and not working on the next book cause they are spending all their time on promoting their book.  I am doing the opposite, I am just working on the next book and can't seem to stop writing.  Three weeks Christmas will be over and things will slow down at work, and then I will have more time.  Maybe this is not the way to do it.  I guess you are supose to promote your book when it comes out, but I have the need to write.  So what do you think?  Would you promote your book first and write later???? I just e-mailed create space, since I didn't hear from them and it is going on 9 days.  I wrote a simple e-mail asksing if everything is going according to plan or if I need to do something.  Not sure what I am doing, so I asked for help.  I don't like asking for help, cause I feel that I will look and sound stupid.  Somehow that has never stopped me, but I ususally ask for help when I am desperate and have no other course to take. I haven't heard from createspace yet.  It has been a week and they said 3-5 days, so I am waiting and trying not to worry about it. I want my books as e-books so I am trying to stay calm, knowing that this will all work out.  I need to start concentrating on my other books that need attention. I just wrote a post for this blog, then I posted it on another blog.  What was I thinking?  That is the second time I have done it.  So I am just confusing my readers.  I didn't get mad, just reposted and moved on. I write no matter what.  We all have problems.  Everyone of us.  Even if it doesn't look like that on the outside, we all have problems.    I write and then wonder how people don't write when they talk about writing. If you want to write, write.  Stop writing about it.  I joined a group of about 7 women.  The group was supose to encourge each other to write.  Some how no one wrote every day.  They talked about the muse (Which I don't believe) or talked about their problems and why they couldn't write.  Needless to say, the group no longer talks anymore.  They talk about writing but no one is writing. I write whether I plan on publishing it or not.  I write cause that is what I do and who I am.  I write at work.  I write in my car.  I write while w

Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you need advice in about something, ask someone.  Need to know what kind of gun your hero would carry, ask someone.  Don't be shy.  They will be happy to share their expertize.  Could be your neighbor, or a co-worker, you just need to ask.  It will add more depth to your story.  So it is not only sitting behind the computer, you need to get out to bring depth to your story.  Find someone who knows what you need and don't be afraid to ask. http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

How do you set your daily goals? Page Quota?  Word Count? I just write in the time that I have.  It seems to work for me.  I write when I can and keep writitng. I have written 2 books this year and one short story.  I write when and where I can.  I think about writing at work, when I wake up.  I write when I get up and before I go to bed. I wrote this post and discovered that I posted it on the wrong blog.  Good thing no one is perfect. I wrote a short story last week.  It is around 5,000 words.  I have someone reading it and I am going to put it up on Kindle. I will let you know how the process goes as I go through it.  I am going to pay to have someone format it.       It didn't take that long to write the short story.  One day to edit it and make changes before giving it to someone to read it. I am so thrilled to have my book:  Always And Forever on line.  www.createspace.com/3681119   Nothing can make me made or put me in a bad mood.  I am already busy working on my next story, and have my writing schedule for next year. Yesterday time flew by and I lost my writing time.  I was on line and the next thing I knew , I had to get ready for work.  I need to manage my time better and to stay focus. I was checking my e-mail, and then I lost my time to write, or even blog.  How did that happen. I am still waiting for my proof copy. I have come up with a goal to finish my next book. Writers are not outgoing people.  We like to stay in the house and deal with our characters.  If you are self published, you will have to get over your shyness and lack of sociallzing.      So grab your business cards, bookmarks and flyers.  You will need to be able to talk about your book, hand out business cards and don't be shy. I have already started handing out business cards, even before my book is on line.  I am so excited, I cannot wait to tell everyone. I ordered my business cards a few weeks ago, from http://www.vistaprint.com/ .  They were free and all I had to do was pay for shipping.  They do that ever once in awhile, so you need to keep checking on their website. I have also made up flyers with my book cover and a brief summary of the book, with the website on where to order. I didn't wait till the file was uploaded, I did this a couple of months ago.  I believe that you have to have faith and see things that are not here yet.  So I created my book cover, before the book was finished. I made flyers before the book was finished and I ordered my business cards before the file was uploaded.  Now I have everything in place. When you reach a mildstone in your life, you need to reward yourself. My proof copy has been shipped and am just waiting.  I need to reward myself but I am not sure how.  I don't want to spend a  lot of money, since I am going to spend money when I buy copies of my book. One has to breath in order to survive.  Writing is like that for me.  I have to write in order to survive.  I am not right if I do not write.  So I do not have a choice whether to write or not.  It is who I am. I write everyday and working on a couple of things.  Holidays always get in the way of my writing.  I am more busier at work and when I come home I am tired.  So it seems that I don't write that much, even though I do write everyday. I  realize that holidays are busy for everyone, but my mind is not as focued as it should be during the holidays.  Somehow I muddle through. I know that the holidays are not upon us just yet, but working in a bakery, we have already started making nutbreads  and cranberry cakes, so for me it is already the holidays. So I need to think about my writing as I am measuing out flour and tossing butter into the bowl.  So when I go on break or get home I can jot down my ideas. I know there are writers out there who just work on one story at a time.  Nothing wrong with that.  It is all how your mind works.  My mind wanders.  I come up with new ideas everyday and somedays it is hard to stay focus on one thing. I am still in the process of getting my book online.  I am working on my next novel, and that is  coming along fine and then while I am at work, I came up with an idea for a short story that I can not ignore.  So I am going to work on the short story during the holidays. I think it will be a fun story to write and it won't be that long, so I will finish it in a couple months.  I can't stop writing.  My mind won't let me.  So I am jotting ideas down at work, I am getting up early to write and I think it is paying off. What is your work ethic????  It might get that book written sooner. I admit that televison is my distraction from writing.  I can not write in the living room, where the telvision is staring at me.  I know it talks to me.  Maybe your distraction is something dirrerent.  The dishes calling you to wash them or those dust bunnies talkling to you.  Whatever it is we need to stop listening to them. I always plan on writing more than I do.  I came home from work yesterday, and had plans to write, then I ate and started flipping channels and then the time slipped by and I didn't write anything.  I think it all come down to one's work ethic.  Some have one and some don't. I might have that name wrong.  It is where one tries to write as mamy words in the month of November.  There are groups around who post their word account. I may offend people but why this month??/  If you can write the month of November why not the rest of the year??? I am so not a computer geek.  I hate computers. I recieved my file in pdf format.  Createspace won't accept it.  It says that it is not a valid pdf format.  Not sure what to do about this. I e-mailed my friend and see what happens.  Why can't anything be easy??? I turn the computer on and hope for the best.  So I am just going to continue to work on the next work.  Not sure what I am going to do. I will continue to write.  What other choice do I have. I am back in the writing mode.  I wrote a lot before I went to work yesterday and I think I am back on track.  I still haven't recieved my file back to upload to createspace and that is okay.  It will happen and I am not going to dwell on it anymore.  I decided that I am going to write 2 books next year.  I have 2 ideas and I think I am up to the job. It is up to me whether I write or not and I decided to write.  I am tired right now.  It is rainy outside and I started to exercise a few days ago and my body is letting me know, but I am going to continue to write. Still waiting for my file to be formatted.  I am a bit anxious about getting the file.  I do hope I remember how to upload the file.  So I want to do that.  I am trying not to get obessed about it. My boyfriend is taking me out for lunch when I get it on line to celebrate.  He is very supportive of me and for that I am grateful. My friend sent me a copy of my book, but it wasn't in pdf format.  She is going to send my a final copy today or the next so I am excited.  I want to hold a copy of my book in my hands.  What a great Christmas present.  That is what I want for Christmas. Sounds Crazy but I am going to IHOP to celebrate.  International House of Pancake.  All the pancakes one can eat.  Doesn't get better than that. Just recieved an e-mail from my friend who is formatting my book.  She also is editting a bit as she goes.  What a friend in deed. So I am excited that she is working on it and taking her time.  I am looking forward to holding my first novel in my hand.  What a great holiday season this year will be. I will have two books up this year and I know that next year I will have one more up.  I am excited on the story that I am working on, is coming along and excited to write the story. Do you use character Charts???  Write down the color of their hair, eyes, background???? I haven't yet.  As I am writing the next book, I am have not done that.  As I am writing I am letting the characters talk to me.  As I was writing a scene, I came up with a flashback scene for both the Hero and Herione.  I am justing letting them tell me their story and back ground.  Eventually I will write it all down.  I want this story to come from the characters and let them tell their story.  I think it will be more fun for me and for the readers.  So I am going to keep writing just to see where the story goes.  I know how it ends and what will happen in the middle.  So I am not just winging it but I am giving the characters a little more room to grow, http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

Are you busy around the holidays?  They will be here before you know it.  I have already started a plan.  I started a plan at work to get everything done once I get busy at work. I came up with a plan to keep writing throughout the holidays.  Nothing is going to stop me from writing my story.  The holidays are not going to get in my way. I know that I am not that busy as some people are. I don't have a large family and I don't have a dinner to cook, but holidays are what they are. I wrote down what I want to do the month of November and December and where I want to be once the new year arrives.  I know that I need a plan, a deadline I place on myself.  That way I know where I am going.  If I have to play catch up or take a few hours off. Everyone has excuses on why they shouldn't do something.  Writing, there are always excuses not to write.  The last two days I had a headache and didn't feel good. I made a few notes but didn't write any pages.  I think that is a good reason to do nothing.  In reality, there are people out there pounding on the keyboard, even when they are sick. In my world, no one cares if I write or not.  I don't have any cheerleaders cheering me on.  I sit alone at my keyboard  and it is up to me if I write or not.  It is up to me, if I edit my chapters.  It is up to me to finish the book.  No one is holding a gun to my head to make me write.  So there should be no excuses. If I want the book written, I have to write it myself.  As someone says at work, "It is not going to get done by itself." I think that is funny when they say that. I went to blog before I went to work, and could not get on line.  I don't know how others do it, but it makes me crazy.  So I am late blogging. I am still waiting for my book to be formatted.  I am getting very anxious to get it on line. In the meantime I am working on my next book.  I take my notebook with me and find that I am writing down ideas when I am on break and lunch.  I just jot down whatever I am thinking and when I get home, I re read my notes and they are very useful. I like hot weather.  There is frost on the car windows and I haven't turned my heat on yet.  I have a small space heater that isn't doing much.  Just don't want to turn my heat on yet.  I do not like winter, at all.  I need to put my feet in ocean water, but don't see that happening.   I started my novel and then realize that I needed to plot first.  So now I am working on my outline.  I like to know where I am going and what is going to happen. I am not a panster.  Nothing wrong with a panster but I need to have an outline and know my plot points so that is what I am working on. I am always carrying paper and pen with me everywhere I go.  I am going to finish this book within three months, that is my dead line.  At least the rough draft.  If I want to be a writer, then I need to write.  No matter what. Find five minutes here, ten minutes there.....it all adds up. I wrote the first chapter at work, on breaks and my lunch so it can be done. this weekend I took my legal pad to work and I wrote a rough draft  of the first chapter of my next book.  I wrote on my break and lunch.  I jotted down ideas as they came to mr. I write cause I have no choice.  I have stories that need to be written.  It is what I do. Next Month I will have my second book up on line, if all goes well.  I am doing a little editting at a time, before I go to work.  Doing a little is better than doing nothing at all. I don't know about you, but my magazines seem to muliply.  I have books and magaizines on the floor so I am starting to start through all of the piles, while I am thinking about my writing.  I found my floor under all the magazines.  I am still thinking of my writing as I am cleanining. I watch that show hoarders and I then start to clean, cause I don't want my house to end up like theirs.  I know how something like that could happen and feel for those people.  I know that I will always have clutter, but some of it has to go. I edit for about five hours and am very happy about the progress that I am getting.  My writing is nothing exciting right now, but the editing has to be done. There is no short cut to writing.  Writing is the easy part for me.  I can write, write, write, but the problem with me is rewriting and editing.  I like to write.  I write everyday, and have no problem putting words on paper. It may not make any sense to anyone, except me.  Now I have a story finished.  About 250 pages.  I just spent five hours in front of the computer line editing.  I am forcing myself to do this.  If I want this book published I have to do this.  It is not fun for me. I look at all the pages and lines I have to go through, but I am trudging along.  I have a deadline ande will be finished with most of it my the end of this month.  I need to keep at it.  A page at a time.  That is all I can do.  Parts of writing I enjoy.  Some I don't.  I guess that goes with every job.  No job is perfect.  So I will continue to line edit till it is done, whether I like it or not. I started the next story in The Jordan Place Series. I am line editing slowly so I will catch all my mistakes.  I am very excited about having the first novel published, and then having the second novel published. I think it is good to have goals and deadlines to keep me on track, gives me something to think about at work and then to see my dream come to is a bit overwhelming. I am now editing line by line, word by word.  Boring.  Something that I have to do.  I know that you are tired of hearing about my editing woes.  I am not complaining, it is a fact of writing.  I feel this is something no one talks about.  Everyone talks about outlining, plotting characters but rarely about editing and looking at every word to see if it is necessary.  So once the book is written I think it is only the beginning to the end.  One needs to look at each word and each comma and period.  No way of getting around this unless you have someone to do it for you, even then you need to look at your book, cause it is your book Back to line editting. http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/  

The hours of editing are starting to pay off.. I have been re-reading my book, and so far I like what I wrote.  Went through the spell check and grammar check.  That took a long time and now I just need to read it and reread it for more errors.  I have to admit that I do not like this part of writing.  It is boring but it is the only way I am going to get it ready to be published. I have already started on the second book of the series. This is the cover of my book. What do you think???? I know that you have heard this before.  Back up your files.  Back up your files.  I took my computer in twice in one week.  They asked me if I had things backed up.  I had no idea what they were talking about.  When I got my computer back all my pictures were gone.  How did that happen????? So I bought a flash drive.   I had no idea what a flash drive was.  Someone told me to back up my file that I was working on, not just on a disk, but on a flash drive, cause a disk can get ruined.  So I stepped up and bought a flash drive.  I plugged in in the usb port (Think that is what it is called)  It worked.  If I can not this so can you. I know nothing about computers.  I turn it on and hope for the best, sort of what I do with my car.  I do listen to others who I respect and trust and they are leading me in the right direction. I have always written stories most of my life.  Though I had no encouragement from my family.  I wrote in highschool on a 1950 manual typewriter.  I sent off my short stories and started recieving rejection letters.  They never really bothered me.  I was doing what I had to do.  I had stories to tell, so I wrote, mailed them off and worked on another story. The series I am now working on and will publish, myself, I have had this idea since 1995.  I liked the story and the characters.  I summited the first book in the series and have recieved about 30 rejection letters.  I have written about 5 other novels, but always came back to The Jordan Place Series, so that is the one I am going to piublish first. I got rejected, got divorced, ended up living in my truck for a few weeks and through all of that, I still continued to write.  It is who I am and what I do.  I have no choice.  I am very excited cause within a month or so I will have my first novel published in The Jordan Place, S

I am in editting mode.  I didn't watch tevevision yesterday or today.  If I am going to finish this book, I need to turn the tv off and just do it. I plan on using the month of October to edit my book.  Get It Done.  I will just not watch tv and totally immerse myself in this book.  I won't be much of a fun person, not that I am anyway.  I won't have anything to talk about at work, since I am not watching tv, but that is okay.  If I want this book to be published, this is the only way I can get it done. Silence isn't so bad.  I can hear myself think.  I could put some music on, but I want to hear my characters talk to me.  I want this book done and published. I work in a bakery.  I make dounts.  Trust me, no one is on a diet.  The owners came up with a new idea they saw on televison:  A Long John topped with Carmel and covered with real bacon bit???? What do you think??????  We sold 8 of them within an hour.  Doesn't sound good to me, Tell me what you think???? I am editing my book and that is coming along good.  I am carrying a note pad in my back pocket, in case I have an idea or thoughts about my writing.  this is the part I do not like but something I have to do, so I am just diving in and getting it done,.  I don't have the tv on it is all quiet so I can think and concentrate. I am starting to edit and I don't have a plan.  I have re-read the story two times and now am ready to edit it and get it done.  The next story is screaming at me to get her story written.  So I have no choice, but to edit the book, get it on line and start the next book. That is the plan. I have always written it is in me.  I have no choice, but to write.  Wht is your plan???? I have been working on the last scene...I want the last scene to be romanic and the readers to remember. I have come up with an ending I think will be romantic and tie in with the story.  So I am very excited.  I have already started plotting out the next book in the series and very excited about that.  First I have to edit and get this book ready so you all can read it and get excited along with me.  It has cooled off and though I do love hot weather, it is nice not to be hot and humid.  So I guess fall is a good thing. I am going to work on my book.  Work on the last scene.  It is time to Edit. How is your book going?? The book is in the computer and now the editing begins.  I hate to edit.  Something that has to be done. I will do some rewrite while I am editing.  I am giving myself 3 months to finish the rewrite and the edit.  It is not the number of pages I write but the time I spend with the book.  I like my story and will complete it.  I am very excited about the cover and the book.
