Yesterday I took the time to organize and throw things away. Tax time is around the corner. Now is the time to find everything. Get those reciepts in an envelope and start saving reciepts when 2012 come rolls around in a few days.
Doesn't matter how you organize things. It is your choice. I know this older gentleman. He was wealthy and he kept all of his reciepts in an old shoe box. That was his system. Everything was in the shoebox. When tax time came he took the shoe box to his tax man. It worked for him.
I keep my reciepts in an envelope.
My aunt owned a restraunt. She had a piece of wood with a nail pounded in it. She stuck all her reciepts on that nail. When her accountant came she just handed him the piece of wood. It worked for her.
All that matters is that you save all your reciepts of what you spend and what you make. It is that simple.
It helps if you have a tax person that you trust. I go to the same tax person every year. He supports my career in writing and goes out of his way to help me find dections that I have coming to me.
So start saving those reciepts and get organize and find a tax person that you trust and that you can go every year and even be able to call during the year if you have any questions.
