Write & Publish An E-book Every Month

Buy Now! I wrote this book and published this book in a month.  The story is around 20,000 words.   Zombie Zoo I wrote this short story in long hand in one sitting.  I just wrote whatever came to mind.  This is how I started writing a short story a month. This is how I learned to publish on Amazon.  I knew nothing when I started.  I had to learn a few things.  Now I have over 70 E-books and Print Books on Amazon. You have to start somewhere. If you want to be a Self-Published Writer, write a short story and publish it as an E-Book.  Dip your toe into the world of publishing.  It is easier than you think. Write a 5,000 word to 20,000 word story, edit it and go to Amazon and Publish it.  You have to start somewhere.  You don't even have to tell anyone.  Just do it.  You will be thrilled when you have your first sell. How I did It This book is a bit outdated, but it is how I started and my writing schedule.  My Goal was to publish 50 E-Books and I did it.  I have my writing and publ

Stop Complaining & Write

This year is almost over.  I realize that this has been a terrible year for most people around the world.  Lives have changed as the world has changed.  So my question to everyone around the world is how are you handling the changes in your life?  How are you coping?  If you are in some of the Facebook Writing Groups, you  will see that people are writing and publishing more this year than ever, because they are stuck home and what else are you going to do? Others are on Facebook complaining that they are stressed and can not write.  I have always been interested in how and where people write.  I learned how to write on a 1950 manual Underwood Typewriter.  Before computers, we had to use a manual typewriter.  Then in the 1500's 1800's they used pen and ink and wrote everything by hand, and had to be careful not to smear the ink.  I like the movie about Shelly Frankenstein about her life.  She was poor.  She had no money.  Where she did live was cold, and drafty, but she wrote

Word Count Update

It has been five days since I blogged.  I haven't written anything for 4 days.  Sinus Headaches.  I wrote in long hand and attempted to write on the computer but didn't do much, so I am not counting those words.  Might of been a hundred words or more.  But I am not counting them. Yesterday, Headaches were gone.  My head was clear and I wrote 5,000 words. I did finish a rough draft of the novel I was working on.  Yesterday I started working on the next novel in the series.   Words to Date 102,139 I started October 7, 2020 counting the words I write. Goal 125,000 Deadline:  December 31, 2020 Words left to write;  22,861 So if you want to write and worry that you don't write everyday, You can see by what I am doing, you do not have to write everyday, though it is better if you do.   I now have a rough draft of a novel that I can rework and am starting the next novel of the series.   Even on the days, I didn't write, I wrote in longhand a bit or just jotted down some notes

Rough Draft Complete

I wrote most of today.  I finished the rough draft of the novel that I was writing.  I wrote 5,000 words today.  Since October 7th I have written 97,000 words. I am not sure of the title, I keep changing the title, but I am very happy with it. I printed out a hard copy and tomorrow I will read through it and take notes.   I am going to start the rough of the next novel, while I start editing this novel.  I am very excited. How is your writing going?   This year is going fast, so I will be talking about goals for next year.   Just wanted to post this and let you know

You Don't Have To Write Everyday

I  don't write everyday.  It is said to write everyday,  That would be the perfect solution if life is perfect.  Life is not perfect.  So far this month I have written 38.500 words.  That is pretty good for me.  If you are on Facebook and are in some writing groups that is great, but there are people who write fast and that is find.   There is one writer who wrote 50,000 words in a week.  Since this is the month of Nano.  Which is fine but not everyone can do that.  I am in awe of people who do.  There are writers who write and publish a book a month.  A 50,000 word novel a month. I am in awe of that person who can do that.  I am not one of those people I write.  I have over 70 plus E-Books and Print Books published on Amazon   All My Books   I have been Self-Publishing since 2011. I have missed 6 days of writing this month. How I started November 17th I wrote 5,000 Words November 18th I wrote 2,000 Words November 19th I wrote 3,000 words Goal:  125,000 Words Deadline:  December 3

Story Telling Is Universal

Story Telling has been around since the beginning of time: Writing is Universal.  Writing is power.  Writing is strength.  Writing is personal. In today's world, with all this high tech, the younger people are not learning how to write.  They are learning to type.   When was the last time you received a letter or a postcard?  What would you rather have, a postcard of someone texting you? I am old school.  I like to write letters.  I like to send cards.  I just made out my Christmas Cards for this year, and at this moment, they are in the mail box, waiting to be picked up my the mail service.  People don't send Christmas Cards any more.  It is not because of computers.  People have gotten lazy and don't really care anymore. I care.  One day there might be a world without books and no one writes anymore.  Everything will be on the screen.  No human contact.  No human emotions.  We will be just like robots,, staring at a screen. I don't want to live in that world. I am a w

A Writer's Morning Writing Routine

11/10/20 Words Written Today:  5,000 Goal:  125,000 Words Deadline:  125,000 Words Words Written To Date:  72,139 Words Left To Write:  52,861 I wrote most of yesterday.  I first started writing in bed and wrote around 2,000 words.  Later in the afternoon, I moved into the living room and wrote 3,000 words, but not in one sitting.  I finished around 8PM   So I feel pretty good about that.  I am going to try that again today. I don't do what typical writer's do in the morning.  There is no right or wrong way of where  to write, when to write.  Every writer is different. I have a desk.  Right now it is covered with other stuff, and not my laptop.  I have an office, though I don't use it.  When I am in my office, I feel like I am at work.  I have to produce.  When I write in bed or in front to the TV, I can write and let the words flow and I don't feel pressure to produce.  I write because I want to. I get up when I wake up.  I have to go let the chickens out of the coop,

Word Count Is Adding Up

It has been a few days since I have blogged.  Time seems to be just passing by. I looked to see when the last time I blogged it was November 4,2020 and now it is November 10, 2020 I am still writing.  I have missed 2 of those days, so the days I did write was a total of 9,000 words. Written Words, since the last time I blogged:  9,000 Goal:  125,000 Words Deadline: December 31, 2020 Words left to Write:  57,861 Words Already Written:  67,139 Last Month I Wrote:  46,639 So keep writing.  As you write, those words will add up and you will be able to finish that book

Time Change Sucks

11/5/20 Words Written Today:  3,000 Goal:  125,000 words Deadline:  December 31, 2020 Words Left to Write:69,861 Words Written:  55,139 I did better today than I did yesterday.   The time change in America has messed me up.  I am getting up earlier and am not in a good mood when I get up.  I am not a morning person, and it takes longer for me to get moving in the right direction Before we had to turn our clocks back, I would get up in a good mood and ready to write and quite productive.  Now we turned the clocks back an hour (How Stupid is that?) I get up at 6 in the morning and am not happy at all I am writing this at 8 in the morning.  I have been up for 2 hours and just am not motivated.  I know it is the time change.  So I just have to move forward and write, whether I feel like it or not. How is the time change effecting you?

Some Days Words Don't Flow

11/4/20 Words Written:  1,000 Goal:  125,000 Deadline:  December 31, 2020 Words Written: 52,139 Words Left To Write:  72,861 I didn't get much writing done yesterday.  I had some errands to do, and when I did write, the words did not flow and it took me a long time to just write 1,000 words.  My heart was not in it.  So I pushed myself to write a 1,000 words. Today is another day and hopefully I will write more words. I went to the Dollar Tree yesterday, for people who don't know what kind of store that is:  In the store, everything is One Dollar.  I bought a wall calendar, a desk calendar and a planning calendar.  For One Dollar each.   I am getting ready for 2021.  I do this every year.  I try to get organized for next year.   So my goal is to write 5,000 words today.  No idea if I am going to reach that goal, but I am going to try.

NANO 50,000 Words Is Doable----Don't Give Up

Last Month I Wrote 46,639 Words, the month of October Now it is November: Yesterday, 11/3/20 Words Written:  4,000 Words Goal:  125,000 Words Deadline:  December 31, 2020 Words Written to Date:51,139 Words Left To Write:  73,861 In the month of October I missed 5 days of writing and I Still managed to write 46,639 Words in October. I averaged around 2,000-3,000 words a day.   When I first started writing, I was lucky if I wrote 500 words a day.  The more you write, the faster and easier the words flow, Anyone can do this, if they want it bad enough    Buy Now I started writing and Self-Publishing in 2011.  In 2015 I wrote-edit-published a short story a month.  I learned how to Self- Publish.  Times have changed.  I thought I was doing good, by writing a short story a month.   Now writers are publishing a Book a Month around 50,000 Words or more. I am nowhere in their league, but if you don't write, you will never be published.   In 2021 My Goal is to publish my 4 Book Novel Series
