This year is almost over. I realize that this has been a terrible year for most people around the world. Lives have changed as the world has changed. So my question to everyone around the world is how are you handling the changes in your life? How are you coping? If you are in some of the Facebook Writing Groups, you will see that people are writing and publishing more this year than ever, because they are stuck home and what else are you going to do?
Others are on Facebook complaining that they are stressed and can not write. I have always been interested in how and where people write. I learned how to write on a 1950 manual Underwood Typewriter. Before computers, we had to use a manual typewriter. Then in the 1500's 1800's they used pen and ink and wrote everything by hand, and had to be careful not to smear the ink.
I like the movie about Shelly Frankenstein about her life. She was poor. She had no money. Where she did live was cold, and drafty, but she wrote with pen and ink. Then her husband took the credit for writing the book when it was first published. Not to mention that her father owned a bookstore and thought her writing was crap. I have watched that movie about her life 3-5 times. She wrote when she had nothing and didn't even think it would get published. She inspires me.
Stephen King was hit by a van while walking one afternoon. He was in bad shape. While he was recovering, he continued to write, while he was in pain. Read Stephen Kings story. He inspires me.
The point is, if you want to write. Write.
Write in Long hand, Write on the Computer. Write in the car, write under a tree. Just write.
There are no excuses not to write. The choice is yours
This Month So Far I wrote 55,668 Words this month and I missed 10 days of writing.
Goal: Write 125,000
Deadline: December 31, 2020
Total Words Written Since Oct 7th:102,307
Words Left To Write: 22,693
I am doing better than I thought. I created this goal or challenge for me to get me to write more. There were days I didn't feel good or just didn't want to write. The days I did write, I wrote about 3,000-5,000 words on those days. I forced myself and pushed myself to write those last words, just to make it to 5,000 words. So I am quite surprised that this month I wrote 55,668 Words.
This is Nano month and everyone around the world tries to write 50,000 words, I did and wasn't trying to do Nano this year.
You can write, if you want to. It is how bad to you want it. I have books I want to write. We are only here on earth for a limited time. So if you want to write a book before you leave this world, you better get started.
I like to write on Legal Pads. I get the ones that are different colors and just write in long hand somedays. This year is almost over. One more month to go. So start thinking about 2021
What book do you want to write and publish in 2021???? Leave a comment and let me know.
I will be posting my goals for next year in a few days.
Write On!
