A Writer's Life

 I wrote 2,000 words today.  I was shooting for 5,000 words, but I am happy with 2,000 words.  I am back on track writing.  I have a lot of ideas in my head and sometimes I get off track, but I think I am back on track.  I am in awe of people who can write 3-4 books a year and that is my goal.  I will not give up.  I am writing the second book in the Legend of Jessica Series. I am not very organize.  The mail piles up.  I type in my hand written pages in and those pile up along with the hard copy that I print out.  My couch is covered with papers and junk mail.  I do know where everything is then when I clean and try to get organize when I do need to find something I then can not find it.  Why do I bother to organize? How does one organize?   Have any ideas on how you keep up with the clutter of paper that seems to pile up.  I gave up and concentrated on my word count.  I am on the couch with the lap top and concentrating on my word count.  What is more important?  Word Count or Being Organize? http://sharonleejohnson.com http://sharonleejohnson.blogspot.com

Twitter, facebook, e-mails, blogs, how is a writer suppose to keep up with what everyone is doing and still find time to write?  I get about 200 e-mails a day, I am on a couple of writer's loop.  I am on facebook, but don't check that often enough.  I am now on twitter.  When am I going to have time to write, plus I have a full time job to pay the bills. I know that I am dropping the ball somewhere and I am behind on my deadline.  I have no excuse, but I can not keep up with everything, so I am not even going to try. I know that everyone has their own way to write a book.  There are hundreds of books on how to write and publish a book.  I myself have thought about writing a how to book.  So there is no right way to write a book.  Whatever works for you, is how you should write your book. I had to get a new air conditioner since the temperture was in the 3 digits, so I didn't turn my computer on.  Too Hot. I have been writing in long hand, plotting and rewriting.  I do need to get more organized and meet the deadlines that I have set for myself.  The heat seems to zap all my energy, but that is no excuse. How have you all been doing????  Setting and meeting your goals for this summer?
