Finding The Time To Write

I came up with a plan.  I am going to write 50 E-Books by the end of 2014.  I have 15 of them published and three being edited.   I have no idea if I will reach the goal of 50, but that is what I am aiming for.

I am publishing one short story a month,  I would like to publish 2 a month, but that is a bit hard, since I have to work a full time job to pay my bills.

How am I doing this?

1.  I get up early before I go to work.  I write, blog, twitter, facebook

2.  I take a notebook with me to work.  I write when I am waiting to punch that good old time clock.  I write on my lunch and breaks.  I carry the notebook with me, everywhere I go at work, when I have my lunch and breaks.

3.  I discovered that I write best when I first wake up.  On ,my days off, I wake up, go and get me a pepsi and turn the computer on.  I don't do any other tasks.  I write for 3-6 hours before I allow my self to do something else.

4.  I do longer care if my floors have dust bunnies.

5.  I have disconnected my cable.  I no longer have access to TV.  I have DVD's if I need to pop one in now and again.  I find that flipping through channels looking for something to watch is wasting time that I could be writing.

6.  I do not surf the web. When I am on line, it is all about writing, checking e-mails, blog, facebook and twitter, then back to writing.

7.  I think of my writing as a business not a hobby.  Not something to talk about.  I don't talk about writing.  I write.

8.  Writing is my second job.  I show up to write, everyday, even if I have to write in long hand or make notes.

9.  Writing is not something I do.  Writing is my job.  I carry business cards, with my blogs and website on them.  I am always handing them out.

10.  If you want to lose weight, you make time to work out or walk.  You want to be clean, you take time to take a shower and do your hair.  Think about the amount of time you are in the gym or hair salon, you could be writing.

I gave TV up to write more.  I have given up sleep to get published.  I have given up my social life to write, not that was anything to brag about, anyway, so maybe there I didn't give anything up.  My amin focus in life is writing and for the next two years I am focused on that.  At the end of the two years I am rewarding myself a 2 week trip to Florida.

So follow me as I write, edit publish and promote 50 E-books.  I will share my ups and downs.  I will let you know when I am selling and when I am not selling.

What are you will to give up to write and see your dreams become a reality?

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Instead, I write.  I might not write 2,000 words everyday.  What I do everyday is, I write.  I write and it might only be 100 words, but I wrote something. I blog and I consider that writing.  I have people come to my blog everyday.  People are reading what I write, like you are reading what I have written, therefore I am a writer.   I know that it is lonely sometimes and you wonder why bother.  I write to live.  I can not write. You can be a self-published writer in less than a mont...
