Stand Alone Book VS Series

I like Series.  I like reading Series.  It is your choice.  I have been wanting to write my story.

I have been a victim of child sexual abuse.  I have wanted to write my story, but it just isn't coming out the way I have it in my head.

I then decided to come up with a Series.  That is what I have been working on since my last blog. I have decided to write a short story around 20,000 words or so.  I am going to introduce the characters and the setting.  Then each character will have their own story.

I wrote everything in longhand while I was at work.  I then came home and entered it into the computer.

So far I have the short story, four full length novels and if I want I can have a short story to tie up any loose ends.  That would book 6 E-Books in the series.

You of course do not have to have that many books in your series.  It is totally up to you.

I was sexually abused and I want others to know that Your Past Does Not Define You.  That is my goal.  I am writing this series to help others and myself.

There is no rule that you have to write a series.  You can write a stand alone book.  If you have a book that you want to write, write it.

There are no rules on what to write.  As you write your stand alone book, think about your other characters and see if they have a story to tell.

Write from your heart.

Meet my characters:

Gracie:  She is quiet and keeps to herself

Hope:  She is a marathon runner.

Faith: She is street smart and learned everything on the streets.

Every summer they visit a relative at Pelican Cove

The first story takes place at Pelican Cove

Katie owns the Pelican Cafe.  She tries to be perfect for everyone.

Then each Character will have their own story of how they move forward with their lives since they admit that they were sexually abused as a child.  Can they find love as they try to heal?

The last story will be all of them reunited at Pelican Cove

I am writing this series mostly for me, but if I can help others heal and move forward, then it was worth exposing my pain and my past.

What are you going to write.  It can be just to entertain the reader.  We all need a break from the real world.

I will be blogging once a week and reporting my progress.

Write your book with me.  Let me know what you are writing.  Have a question?  Ask me.  I have 4 writing books and more than 50 E-Books on Amazon.  Don't go into debt to get publish.

Write the book and then follow me as I publish my book and not go into debt.

I can now write and publish and it cost me nothing.  You can do.

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Work Ethic

What is your work ethic????  It might get that book written sooner. I admit that televison is my distraction from writing.  I can not write in the living room, where the telvision is staring at me.  I know it talks to me.  Maybe your distraction is something dirrerent.  The dishes calling you to wash them or those dust bunnies talkling to you.  Whatever it is we need to stop listening to them. I always plan on writing more than I do.  I came home from work yesterday, and had plans to write, then I ate and started flipping channels and then the time slipped by and I didn't write anything.  I think it all come down to one's work ethic.  Some have one and some don't. I think I am one of them that does not have a strong work ethic.  The fact that I want my book finished, is what motivates me.  I want to be a writer, so I write. http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

Writing When Sick

I didn't feel good the last two days.  I slept a lot, but I was still thinking about my writing.  I did sit on the couch with my laptop and did some writing, though that I know that I need to do rewrite, but I did write.  Today I feel better and hopefully I will get more pages into the computer.  I started the rewrite of a novel that has been rejected 20 times and I will get it back on the market. So that I it.  I am going to start writing and get this done. What are you working on??? This is a new year.....New Beginning.
