Writing Deadlines

Do you create deadlines for yourself?  If you are a self published writer, you only have to answer to yourself.  That is a good thing and a bad thing.  You have no one to answer to except yourself.

I create a deadline for myself.  I have a deadline which is June to publish my non fiction book, a memoir of a certain part of my life.  I have finally figured out what to add and what to leave out and how to write it.

I am writing it in the first person in the present tense, not past tense.  This is my main focus.  I have a fiction book that I am working on, but that will be on the back burner till this is done.

The title is Depression No More, how GOD healed me of my depression and suicidal thoughts.  I feel it is important to be written and cannot go forward until I publish this book.

Do you create deadlines for your writing?

It can be daily deadlines, weekly, monthly or yearly.  It is good to have goals and deadlines.  I also have decided to take the first week of June off, then I will have time to meet my deadline.

If you are not creating deadlines for yourself, then what are you doing to reach your goals.  You may have better ideas.

Leave a comment and let me know.

Get published and see your dream become a reality.

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Writing Everyday

I am in awe of people who can write everyday.  I have heard that for years.  Write Everyday, even if it is just one word, one sentence or 1,000 words. I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...
