A Writer's Life

My friend sent me a copy of my book, but it wasn't in pdf format.  She is going to send my a final copy today or the next so I am excited.  I want to hold a copy of my book in my hands.  What a great Christmas present.  That is what I want for Christmas. Sounds Crazy but I am going to IHOP to celebrate.  International House of Pancake.  All the pancakes one can eat.  Doesn't get better than that. I also took my notebook to work and came up with some good ideas. There is always some reason not to write. Just recieved an e-mail from my friend who is formatting my book.  She also is editting a bit as she goes.  What a friend in deed. So I am excited that she is working on it and taking her time.  I am looking forward to holding my first novel in my hand.  What a great holiday season this year will be. I will have two books up this year and I know that next year I will have one more up.  I am excited on the story that I am working on, is coming along and excited to write the story. So the writing process is long and so is getting it to print.  I don't have a magic wind to get it on line.  So I need to go with the flow and keep writing no matter what. http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

Do you use character Charts???  Write down the color of their hair, eyes, background???? I haven't yet.  As I am writing the next book, I am have not done that.  As I am writing I am letting the characters talk to me.  As I was writing a scene, I came up with a flashback scene for both the Hero and Herione.  I am justing letting them tell me their story and back ground.  Eventually I will write it all down.  I want this story to come from the characters and let them tell their story.  I think it will be more fun for me and for the readers.  So I am going to keep writing just to see where the story goes.  I know how it ends and what will happen in the middle.  So I am not just winging it but I am giving the characters a little more room to grow, http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

Are you busy around the holidays?  They will be here before you know it.  I have already started a plan.  I started a plan at work to get everything done once I get busy at work. I came up with a plan to keep writing throughout the holidays.  Nothing is going to stop me from writing my story.  The holidays are not going to get in my way. I know that I am not that busy as some people are. I don't have a large family and I don't have a dinner to cook, but holidays are what they are. I wrote down what I want to do the month of November and December and where I want to be once the new year arrives.  I know that I need a plan, a deadline I place on myself.  That way I know where I am going.  If I have to play catch up or take a few hours off. Everyone has excuses on why they shouldn't do something.  Writing, there are always excuses not to write.  The last two days I had a headache and didn't feel good. I made a few notes but didn't write any pages.  I think that is a good reason to do nothing.  In reality, there are people out there pounding on the keyboard, even when they are sick. In my world, no one cares if I write or not.  I don't have any cheerleaders cheering me on.  I sit alone at my keyboard  and it is up to me if I write or not.  It is up to me, if I edit my chapters.  It is up to me to finish the book.  No one is holding a gun to my head to make me write.  So there should be no excuses. If I want the book written, I have to write it myself.  As someone says at work, "It is not going to get done by itself." I think that is funny when they say that. "It is not going to get done by itself." So if you want to be a writer, you need to write.  T...
