Know Your Timeline For Every Scene

I created a rough timeline.  I do it old school with paper and pen.

Here It Is:

I drew a line in the middle of the page.

The left side is the major plot points

The right side is what happens and the time of day and weather.

It is very rough.  This is for my eyes only.  But now I know what day the book starts and the weather, and what day the book ends and the weather.  That is major to me.  My timeline is Thursday-Sunday

Your timeline my be months, years or centuries, but this gives you where months etc should go.

Then as I write each scene, I will pay more attention to the time of day, the weather and the month of the year.  It will give you more depth in each scene.

What do you think?  Have you ever created a timeline?

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...
