I didn't Blog this past week. I really have no real excuse, except that I was rewriting my my book. I am making it more tighter, less characters and leaner. It will be around 50,000 words.
I have been getting up around 7:00 am and writing until 12:00pm I then pat myself on the back and think that I did good.
I don't feel that I am getting that far on my book. I am writing 2,000-3,000 words a day, but still feel that it should be done by now.
What am I doing wrong?
I then start thinking about other stories I could write, I even plot them out or new ideas pop in my head, so I write that idea down. I am on a tread mill going nowhere.
Then this morning, I woke up with an entire novel plotted in my head. Sometimes I think I am a bit crazy with all these thoughts and ideas in my head. I can not possibly write all these stories I are swirling in my head or can I?
I buy books on writing. I have a lot of them over the years. I went to writer's conference's listened, took notes and bought books to find the secret of how to write and finish a book.
There is no magic formula. I wish there was.
So when I got up this morning, I got my Kindle and flipped through my writing books on Kindle.
This book is the one that I have read more than once.
Rachel Aaron's 2,000-10,000
She writes on how she went from 2,000 words a day- to 10,000 words a day. This book is worth a look. If you want to increase your word count, double your word count or just see how others write. Check this book out. She also writes long books.
I am rereading her book today.
You can find her book on Amazon
There are a lot of books out there on writing, I have written a few myself, but the only thing that will get your book written and published is for you to sit down and write, no matter what.
It is not always easy, but, it is a writer's life.
