Tell someone you are a writer or writing a book, the answer is usually the same, "I could write a book." But they never do.
So why do you write?
1. Do you write a journal to help keep you sane?
2. Do you write to sell millions of books?
3. Do you write because you have a story to tell?
4. Do you write because you think you can do better than what is being published today?
5. Do you write because you have characters screaming in your head, for their story to be told?
I write, because that is who I am. I have to write. In the past I have stopped writing. I put everything up, pens, paper and notebooks. Then I found myself scribbling on a paper towel or a receipt.
I write because I know I have a good ideas. I write because it keeps me sane and focus.
I write because I want to sell millions of copies of my book. I want to be in New York City at a book signing, where people are standing in line around the block to get my book. (Just being honest)
I write because I have a story that I feel needs to written before I die. I have characters in my head, begging me to write.
As I am getting older, and know that time is limited, I write to leave something behind to help others who may go through things I have gone through.
I write because I am a writer and that is what writers do.
