To Quit Your Day Job or Not To Quit Your Job

I quit my job February 23, 2019

I was tired.  I was cranky and I just wanted to write.  I have said for years, "I just want to take a year off to write."  The time came.  I put my notice in.  The day I walked out of that building and never looked back.

Sure I have to watch my money.  Ink for the printer is not cheap.  The internet is not cheap.  Writing supplies is not cheap.  Then there is monthly bills.  I downsized and willing to give up a few things so I can stay home to write.

For me, it is not a money thing.  It is a heart thing.  I am told that I am a nicer person.  I think I was hard to live with because I was so tired and mad about myself because I wasn't doing what I wanted to do.

                  HERE IS THE UPDATE

1.  Published Prepare Yourself For The Rapture, as an E-Book

2.  Have a Proof Copy of Prepare Yourself For The Rapture

3.  Have written a 20,000 word story The Cross

4.  Created a Time-Line for The Cross

5.  Blogging more My Other Blog I Am Walking Wit God

I have been writing 4 months.

I know others might have been more productive, but the fact that I have one book published, another book in rewrite and I am thinking and plotting on the next book.

I am not telling you to quit your job.

I reached a point that I hated my job.  I liked the people.  I liked the company I worked for.  I hated, not being able to write.  I was too tired to blog.  I was to tired to write.  It was an effort just to get out the door to go to work.  I just wanted to stay home and write.

So I had to give up a few things:

1.  I don't go out to eat.

2.  I do not spend money every day

3.  I am on a strict budget.

4.  I limited my food options.

5.  I eat basic food and don't buy food, just because I want it.

6.  I do monthly shopping and will not go to the store for one item.  I will live without that item.  (Suck it up)

7.  I don't go to the movies.  (Which I love to do)  I wait for the DVD.

8.  I keep a record of everything I spend, to the penny.

9.  I have a garden and chickens.

10.  I gave up being miserable

I AM FOLLOWING MY HEART---I AM HAPPY----CONTENT

I AM DOING WHAT GOD CREATED ME TO DO---------------WRITE

If you can not quit your day job, start to day.  Think about your spending.  Start down and start planning, so one day you can walk out of that building and not look back.  Start planning now.

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Writing Everyday

I am in awe of people who can write everyday.  I have heard that for years.  Write Everyday, even if it is just one word, one sentence or 1,000 words. I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...
