Rapid Release Publishing.......Ever heard of it?
This is nothing new, but it is worth looking into.
Rapid Release Publishing is when you write, edit and publish an E-Book once a month, twice a month....The key to keep readers coming back and buying your books. If you write a book once a year, which is fine, and it takes you another year to publish a book, odds are you will have lost the readers, they moved on.
So to keep your readers coming back and never leaving, once they finish one of your books, they will be looking for your next book which would be within weeks.
This works and is so true.
When I wrote my Zombies Series I decided to write a short story every month for a year. The story would run around 5,000-10,000 words a story. After all Zombie Zoo I wrote that story in one sitting. So, that year, I wrote-edit -published a short story for a year and then wrote Me VS Zombies So it can be done.
That is basically all I did: Work to pay the bill and write and publish a short story every month. I lived and breathed this and did nothing else. It was also a learning curve on how to publish without paying someone else to do the formatting etc.
This is how I did it: Rapid Release Publishing Publishing a Short Story A Month
It was not called Rapid Release Publishing back then. Same concept.
Now what writer's are doing, especially romance writers, are they are writing- editing - publishing a 50,000 word-65,000 word Novel once a month or every two months. Why?
Romance Readers love to read. If the writer publishes a book once every four weeks or every eight weeks, she will create a following. The writer will not lose that reader, because you will have other books she can read and she will be looking for your next book.
I know what you are saying: I can't write that fast, No Way.
My answer is: Have you tried?"
When I was writing and publishing a short story a month and I lived and breathed it. The solution is to write fast.
The more you write, the faster you will become as a writer.
I can easily write 1,000 words. I can easily write 3,000 words a day. That has been my max so far.
Now that I have discovered this Rapid Release Publishing for longer books, I am thinking......
I have 4 books I want to write and they are in a series. I am going to write them all before I publish them and then publish them within 1-2 weeks of each other.
My goal for each day is 5,000 words.
I have the first book done in rough draft. That is what I am aiming for. Get all 4 books written in rough draft make sure the time line is good throughout all the books, same characters, same setting so I don't have to create new characters or settings.
I will keep you posted on my word count and what I am doing.
