Choosing A Genre

How does one know what genre to write? This was the first  Book   It is my testimony of how God changed my life. Then I wrote  Always & Forever This is a romance novel, with paranormal elements.  I had an entire series plotted out. I was on my way to being a Christian Writer.  Then someone wrote a review and called me a Paranormal Writer. I like the sound of that. Then: Zombies  entered my life.  I wrote  Zombie Zoo I wrote 5 stores of Zombie Zoo and then wrote the series Me VS Zombies I was on my way.  I was selling E-Books, getting royalty checks and was on my way.  Then I sort of got burned out on the series.  I have 10 premade covers for a new Zombie Series, but just didn't know how to make it stand out from Me VS Zombies . So I went back writing Christian Non fiction books, for a year or so. I started blogging and just wanted to stay home and write. So here I am, sitting in my room, blogging and ...

What I Have Learned from NANO

I am not going to make 50,000 words by the end of the month, I am writing everyday, and I have learned a few things. 1.  I feel to much pressure to write a lot everyday. 2.  After 2,000 words, I need a break. 3.  Usually after I right 2,000 words, my mind is drained. 4.  After my break from writing 2,000 words, I usually do the rest of my writing in long hand or blog or just think. 5.  I work on more than one book at a time, so I am constantly working on one book, one day and the next day might work on another book. 6.  I need to be more organized. 7.  I am a writer no matter how I write each day. 8.  I continue to write everyday. 9.  Everyday my word count is different. 10.  If I don't write one day, life will go on. Good luck to everyone who is plugging away.    You are almost to the finish line. What are you learning from doing NANO? I did stop counting my word count.  I do hope you all will ...

How Is NANO Going For You?

I am not a fan.  This is the first year I am doing NANO.  I feel like this voice yelling in my head, "WRITE!  WHY ARE YOU NOT WRITING?" I wrote 500 words yesterday.  I didn't even work on my story, I just wrote down an idea for a story that I had screaming in my head. It is now deer season, and I had to help with the deer that was my boyfriend killed.  Plus I had to do the chickens and their water was frozen.  I couldn't eat anything after doing the deer.  My kitchen looked like a murder scene.  For those of you who have been reading my blog.  Yes I am still a vegetarian. but we moved to live off grid so that is what we are doing.  More on living off grid later. I am still writing everyday.  Blogging today. I think my word count is up to 18,000 I think. Now I have to go to town. So hang in there if you are not making your word count.  As long as you are writing that is all that matter.  One Word At A Time ...

Word Count Update NANO

November 8th & 9th I didn't write anything.  Blame it on the weather and I just didn't feel that great, though it is not an excuse. Nov 11th I wrote 2,500 words.  Today, Nov 12 I have written 2,000 words so far.  Total as of today I have written:  16,000 words.  (If I counted right) I have a piece of paper that I am keeping track of my word count, and I am not counting every single word.  The day I wrote 2,500 words, I went over that but I just rounded the number off. So that is where I am at so far.  The month is almost half over; I need to step up my word count if I am going to make it to 50,000 words. How are you doing? What is your word count? Write On!

Writing Everyday

I am in awe of people who can write everyday.  I have heard that for years.  Write Everyday, even if it is just one word, one sentence or 1,000 words. I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...

NANO Update

Day 1:  2,000 Words Day 2.  1,000 Words Day 3.  1,000 Words. I need to step up today.  I don't really have an excuse on why I am not writing more.  I have sinus issues.  I am sure everyone is dealing with something. So if you are doing NANO, hang in there.  You are not alone Going to go and write.

Day 1 of NANO

I have sinus issues when I woke up this morning.  I I was not going to write or do anything else today.  Then I remembered that it was November 1st. I had to talk myself into writing. I sat in my chair with the tv on and wrote 2,000 words. I have to confess that the last 800 words were a bit hard, but I did not get up until I made my word count. How did you do on the 1st day of November. Leave a comment and let me know.
