Published Book 80

Finally Published That Crazy Chicken Lady!!!!       Amazon

It is on Amazon in E-Book.  I am publishing it in Print.  I ordered a copy to see what it looks like before I hit the publish button.

For the past 2 weeks I have been in editing mode.  This is what I did.

1.  I write in bed.  Though I do not recommend this.  Bad for the Body.

2.  I printed out a Hard Copy and read it through.  Not looking for grammar mistakes, but for major plot mistakes.  Making it flowed how I wanted it to.  Making notes listing page numbers as I read.

3.   I then went and corrected the problems in the computer.

4.  I then did the spell/grammar checker.  I knew I had mispelled words.

5.  Printed out another Hard Copy

6.  I then went through it line by line word by word, making lists of things to do later and marking on the Hard Copy.

7.  I then went back to the computer and made all the corrections.

8.  I formatted the pages.  The Chapter Headings I did in a different Font.

9.  Created a Table of Contents

10. Loaded the manuscript up on KDP  Hit Publish.

I was on KDP earlier and did my book blurb, genres, etc.  I did not have anyone to edit my book.  I have someone to edit the book, but she was busy, so I will probably have her edit it later.

I know people say you need an editor.  I totally agree.  If you can afford an editor and want to spend hundreds of dollars or even thousands of dollars,,,,,go ahead.

I have paid for editors but I never found one that suited me.  I did find an editor and she edited my non-fiction book at a reasonably price, but then she couldn't do it anymore.  Since then I haven't found an editor that I liked.  It seemed that they just wanted to re-write my book, and even my book blurbs.

So I didn't have this edited.

When I wrote this book.  I had the first rough draft complete months ago, but I didn't like it.  To the core of my being, It wasn't what I wanted, so I rewrote the entire book.  Plot was the same.  I changed the Character's names.  And it was a total rewrite and this time it flowed and went fairly quickly.  I like this book.

So If I can do this.  You can do this.

I did not write everyday.  There was a month or so that I didn't write at all.  I sat in front of the TV and just didn't want to write, but once I started writing, I didn't stop.

We all have our own writing habits, everyone is different.  The only thing that matters is that you write.  If you want to write, you have to write sooner or later.

Get off the internet and your phone and write.

So that is what I have been doing.  I already have 2 Book ideas that I will be working on.

How is your writing going?  Leave a comment.

Write On!

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Writing Everyday

I am in awe of people who can write everyday.  I have heard that for years.  Write Everyday, even if it is just one word, one sentence or 1,000 words. I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...
