World Building For A Fantasy Novel

This is new for me.  I started out as a Romance Writer,  Moved to Paranormal Romance Writer to Zombie Writer to Christian Writer.  Now I am venturing into being a Fantasy Writer.

So I will blog on how my writing is going.  This is what I have done so far:

1.  I googled world building and found a great PDF to print out  (Google The Ultimate Worldbuilding Template and print it out or save it on your computer.

2.  Went and bought new notebooks and 1 sketchpad notebook.  The sketchpad notebook I am using for my drawings (Not that I can draw at all) and to place important ideas or whatever for a quick reference.

3.  I went online to find pictures of my characters.  I looked at book covers to find my pictures  (Google premade bookcovers)  I printed out the covers, cut out what I wanted and placed them in my sketch pad.  I also Goggled Fantasy Characters.  Just to find pictures of what I want my characters to look like.

4.  I Googled Old English Names to find my Character's Name.  Google- Fantasy Character Names, Old Biblical Names, Old Scottish Names, whatever kind of name you are looking for.

5.  Now I have my Characters in my sketch pad and a PDF of World Building.

6.   Now I can start Plotting.  That is where I am now.

7.  I did write the 1st seen of the book.  To introduce the Characters. Not a complete scene just a general idea of who they are and what they want

8.  I am still plotting.  That is where I am at.  I have my Characters and still working on the World Building.

Where are you at in your writing?

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Writing Everyday

I am in awe of people who can write everyday.  I have heard that for years.  Write Everyday, even if it is just one word, one sentence or 1,000 words. I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...
