Marketing Your Book 101

Writing is fun.....Once you hit the publishing button, that is when the real work starts.
Some things you should know, but no one will tell you.

1. Time is your enemy. You will never have enough time in the day to do what you want to do.

2. You will soon realize that you find yourself promoting your book, than writing the next book.

3. Do you have a face book page??? An author Face Book Page??? A Blog????

4. What works for one author might not work for another author.

5. I try to blog everyday or every other day. If you don't blog regularly, you will lose viewers

6. I still don't understand facebook, but I know that I have to be on it. I have friends on facebook and I know that readers are finding me on face book

7. Need to get your next book out ASAP.

8. If you are not selling books....get the next book out and keep writing,,,, you will. I went 4 months without a sale. I kept writing.

9. Summer Slump. I was selling books I was doing great till June-July-August came. My sales sank..Now I feel I am back at the beginning. Struggling alone, but now that summer is over...my sales are going back up

10. Do what works for you. You need an online presence. You need to get your next book out.

Writing When Sick

I didn't feel good the last two days. I slept a lot, but I was still thinking about my writing. I did sit on the couch with my laptop and did some writing, though that I know that I need to do rewrite, but I did write. Today I feel better and hopefully I will get more pages into the computer. I started the rewrite of a novel that has been rejected 20 times and I will get it back on the market. So that I it. I am going to start writing and get this done. What are you working on??? WRITER'S UPDATE: REWRITES

SO FAR THIS MONH...I HAVE WRITTEN 65 PAGES.... NOW TODAY....I AM GOING TO WRITE THOSE 65 PAGES WHY? I DON'T LIKE THE HOW THE BOOK STARTS I HAVE REWRITTEN THE BEGINNING...LIKE AT LEAST 4 TIMES.....SO HERE GOES #5 THIS IS WHY MY BOOK IS NOT PROGRESSING I KNOW I SHOULD KEEPING WRITING TO THE END....AND NOT REWRITE... BUT EACH TIME I WRITE THE NEW BEGINNING...I THINK THIS IS THE ONE SO TODAY IS OCTOBER 10TH. STARTING REWRITE #5 WISH ME LUCK

Don't Be Scammed

This is my number one pet peeve on being self published. There are people, website, and courses out there, that want your money. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEND! There are websites out there that will charge you for services that you can learn to do yourself. If you don't want to learn these things that is fine, pay for it. But if the reason that you are paying for services is because you don't t think you can, you are totally wrong. I have said this before and I am saying it again. I knew nothing when I started in 2011, I had a computer. I had no idea how to send a file via e-mail. I had no idea what to do one I got the file back from the formatter. How do I get it uploaded on Amazon. I had no idea that I had more than one drive on the computer. I downloaded a file and had no idea where it went. If you are thinking that you can not learn this.
