How Much Are You Spending On Self Publishing?

I started self-publishing in 2011. The E-Book Market was not crowded. I sold books and was on my way to selling millions. I paid for formatting, book covers, editing.

Then Amazon made it easier to format my files, create covers on their site.

Then The Authors started creating writing courses. They were popping up everywhere. Some authors were reasonable. I took a few writing courses. I learned a lot.

THEN:

The pod casts and web seminars started popping up.

The market is crowded. It is so easy for anyone to publish on Amazon. https://kdp.amazon.com

Now people are charging 500 Dollars for writing courses and 10,000 for a life time. You would be surprised that people are paying for those services.

Don't get me wrong, if that is what you want to do, that is fine.

Don't think that you have to pay that much to become published.

Some authors are paying up to 500 dollars for a book cover. That is fine is you can afford it.

Why go into debt? I am a firm believer to live debt free.

So think before you spend your money.

Writing When Sick

I didn't feel good the last two days. I slept a lot, but I was still thinking about my writing. I did sit on the couch with my laptop and did some writing, though that I know that I need to do rewrite, but I did write. Today I feel better and hopefully I will get more pages into the computer. I started the rewrite of a novel that has been rejected 20 times and I will get it back on the market. So that I it. I am going to start writing and get this done. What are you working on??? WRITER'S UPDATE: REWRITES

SO FAR THIS MONH...I HAVE WRITTEN 65 PAGES.... NOW TODAY....I AM GOING TO WRITE THOSE 65 PAGES WHY? I DON'T LIKE THE HOW THE BOOK STARTS I HAVE REWRITTEN THE BEGINNING...LIKE AT LEAST 4 TIMES.....SO HERE GOES #5 THIS IS WHY MY BOOK IS NOT PROGRESSING I KNOW I SHOULD KEEPING WRITING TO THE END....AND NOT REWRITE... BUT EACH TIME I WRITE THE NEW BEGINNING...I THINK THIS IS THE ONE SO TODAY IS OCTOBER 10TH. STARTING REWRITE #5 WISH ME LUCK

Don't Be Scammed

This is my number one pet peeve on being self published. There are people, website, and courses out there, that want your money. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEND! There are websites out there that will charge you for services that you can learn to do yourself. If you don't want to learn these things that is fine, pay for it. But if the reason that you are paying for services is because you don't t think you can, you are totally wrong. I have said this before and I am saying it again. I knew nothing when I started in 2011, I had a computer. I had no idea how to send a file via e-mail. I had no idea what to do one I got the file back from the formatter. How do I get it uploaded on Amazon. I had no idea that I had more than one drive on the computer. I downloaded a file and had no idea where it went. If you are thinking that you can not learn this. I am proof you can learn if you set your mind to it and are willing to learn. Don't...
