Quit Your Day Job Or Not?

I have wanted to quit my job and stay home and write for years.  I just wanted to take a year off to write.  I never did.

After I stopped writing the Series Me VS Zombies life got in the way of my writing, and I was tired of writing and working all the time.  It can be exhausting.  I kept writing, kept working, doing what I needed to do.

2019 is a new year and a new life.  I will be quitting my job this year.  I will be focusing on my writing.  I moved out in the country which makes me not want to go to town.  I don't want to drive down miles of country road to get to the main highway and go to town.  I no longer am willing to drive in winter in fear of getting stuck in the snow or ending in the ditch because of icy roads.

Most people call me cheap.  I am.  I also have money to live off of for a few years, so I can stay home and write, raise chickens and plant a huge garden.

As I get older, things that were important to me are no longer important.  I do wish I would of done this when I started self-publishing.  I would of been further in my writing career and have more books published.

For me the time has come.  I have a few more months to work before I quit.I will be focusing on Blogging everyday.  I have another Blog I Am Walking With GOD That I will be blogging everyday, along with writing and publishing books.

So if you want to quit your day job, here is my suggestions:

1.  Take yourself seriously as a writer, no matter what anyone says.

2.  Save your money.  You don't need to spend $5.00 on a cup of coffee, stop going out to eat.

3.  Make an account just for writing, and put money into that account or jar, the money you would of spent going out to eat, getting your nails done or at the hair salon, over time that will add up.

4.  Act like a writer.  Write.

5.  Follow your heart.

6.  Down Size your life.

Whatever you do Keep On Writing.

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Writing When Sick

I didn't feel good the last two days.  I slept a lot, but I was still thinking about my writing.  I did sit on the couch with my laptop and did some writing, though that I know that I need to do rewrite, but I did write.  Today I feel better and hopefully I will get more pages into the computer.  I started the rewrite of a novel that has been rejected 20 times and I will get it back on the market. So that I it.  I am going to start writing and get this done. What are you working on??? This is a new year.....New Beginning. Let us follow our dream together check out my other blog: http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/ Write Something Today

Work Ethic

What is your work ethic????  It might get that book written sooner. I admit that televison is my distraction from writing.  I can not write in the living room, where the telvision is staring at me.  I know it talks to me.  Maybe your distraction is something dirrerent.  The dishes calling you to wash them or those dust bunnies talkling to you.  Whatever it is we need to stop listening to them. I always plan on writing more than I do.  I came home from work yesterday, and had plans to write, then I ate and started flipping channels and then the time slipped by and I didn't write anything.  I think it all come down to one's work ethic.  Some have one and some don't. I think I am one of them that does not have a strong work ethic.  The fact that I want my book finished, is what motivates me.  I want to be a writer, so I write. http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/
