Tax Time

In the United States of America, it is tax time.  No one likes to do their taxes.

Did you know, that if you are a writer and published something, you might be able to claim it on your taxes.

1.  Save all receipts that spend on your writing.

2.  Save all your receipts if you go to a writer's conference

3.  Find a good Tax Person, who is willing to go that extra mile for your deductions and won't belittle you, when you don't make a lot of money.

4.  Amazon will send you something that tells you how much you made last year or you can just get it off your dashboard at your Amazon page.

5.  If you didn't do this last year, start now.  If you are not the most organized person, grab an envelope and put the receipts in the envelope throughout the year.

WARNING!!!!
If you are one of the lucky ones that will get a Huge royalty deposit one month, contact a tax person, because you will have to pay taxes on that.  So don't go and spend all your royalties before you know how much taxes you will have to Pay

An elderly rich man told me once, Never get the IRS mad at you.  Pay your taxes.

Good advice.

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Writing Everyday

I am in awe of people who can write everyday.  I have heard that for years.  Write Everyday, even if it is just one word, one sentence or 1,000 words. I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...
