I haven't published a book since last year and it is a good feeling to have 2 new books published.

I am sure you all are on some sort of Lock Down due to this new Virus.  I have been on Facebook and have learned that a lot of Self-Published Writers sales are down, big time.  They are not making money like they have in the past months and they are beginning to panic.  They are now short on money to pay for Editors and Book Covers and Formatting.

You have to treat your writing as a Business.  The Book is your Product.  Your books are what you are selling.

I have always said, do not go into debt to be published.

Amazon has made it so simple and easy to publish.  I published Write Your Testimony and it cost me nothing.  I formatted the file myself, I created the Cover at Kindle Direct Publishing It cost me nothing.  I have a relative to edit my writing.

I am now in the process of making these two books into Print Books.  I was on the computer for 5 hours while trying to figure out how to set the correct margins for the book The Cross.  I was determined to figure it out, because I am not going to pay someone to do it for me.  There is a PDF book you can download that tells you how to get your file ready for Print.

So I am learning how to do it.

I love to write.  I wish I could just write, send it off to the Editor, have someone to format my book and I wouldn't have to worry about anything but write.  If I want to publish books I have to learn a few things.  It is not hard, sometimes just time consuming.

Formatting a file for an E-Book is so simple.
Print Version is a bit more complicated.

My advice to you, is to Not Go Into Debt To Be Published.  Do It Yourself.

You can write the best book ever.  You could pay hundreds of dollars for the cover and to be published, that does not mean that you will recoup your money.  There is no guarentee that you will sell copies of your book.

I want to write.  I like to write.  I like to hold my Print Version in my hand.  I like to give my books away and I like to sell books.  I write to live.  I am a writer,

So think before you spend.

If I can publish debt free, so can you.

It is easier than you think

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Work Ethic

What is your work ethic????  It might get that book written sooner. I admit that televison is my distraction from writing.  I can not write in the living room, where the telvision is staring at me.  I know it talks to me.  Maybe your distraction is something dirrerent.  The dishes calling you to wash them or those dust bunnies talkling to you.  Whatever it is we need to stop listening to them. I always plan on writing more than I do.  I came home from work yesterday, and had plans to write, then I ate and started flipping channels and then the time slipped by and I didn't write anything.  I think it all come down to one's work ethic.  Some have one and some don't. I think I am one of them that does not have a strong work ethic.  The fact that I want my book finished, is what motivates me.  I want to be a writer, so I write. http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

Writing When Sick

I didn't feel good the last two days.  I slept a lot, but I was still thinking about my writing.  I did sit on the couch with my laptop and did some writing, though that I know that I need to do rewrite, but I did write.  Today I feel better and hopefully I will get more pages into the computer.  I started the rewrite of a novel that has been rejected 20 times and I will get it back on the market. So that I it.  I am going to start writing and get this done. What are you working on??? This is a new year.....New Beginning.
