A Writer's Schedule

It is 5 in the morning.  I couldn't sleep.  I have 12 chicks in my bathtub.  Saturday is my last day as an employed person.  I still have bills to pay.  My mind has been racing all night.  I could not sleep.  I woke up at 4 in the morning.  Yes I want to write my 4 book series, but the other main thing I want and need to do is to blog.

Blog about my writing life.

Blog on my walk with GOD.

So I climbed out of bed.  Drank a glass of orange juice.  Took my Zertec.   Grabbed a Pepsi, prayed.  Read the Bible.  Turned on the computer and here I am.  The house is quiet.  I have my Monkey's CD on and am now blogging.

As a writer, I have to write when I can.  When I wrote , Me VS Zombies Series I worked the night shift.  10:00pm-6am  Some might say that is a terrible shift and it is,but not for a writer.  I worked at night and slept during the day.  On my nights off.  I did not try to be a day person.  I still slept during the day and on my nights off, I had the entire night to write.  I would write, blog or whatever the entire night.  That was how I was able to write and publish an episode every month.  The nights are quiet, and nothing on tv.  I wrote at night.

Now that I will be unemployed at the end of the week, have chickens, need to plant the garden soon, and try to spend time with my boyfriend, I no longer can sleep all day and write all night.

So I got up at 5 in the morning, to blog, then go and run errands.  Try to write this afternoon.

The point is, for me there will be no set time to write.  I am going to write when I can.  Get up early, stay up late, stop watching tv.

I need a routine.  Not sure what that will be.  All I know is that I will write and blog everyday(at least try) but if I do not write, I will not beat myself up for not writing.

The important thing is to write, everyday.

Yesterday I wrote 1,349 words.  I fleshed out the first Chapter.  I am totally re-writing the book.  I am starting from scratch, though the skeleton of the story remains the same.

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Writing Everyday

I am in awe of people who can write everyday.  I have heard that for years.  Write Everyday, even if it is just one word, one sentence or 1,000 words. I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...
