Jessica Brody on Save The Cat

If you have been reading my posts, you know that I am plotting my book using the book Save The Cat Writes a Novel. If you are interested in writing a Screen Play. Save The Cat is the book you need. I have purchased all the Save The Cat Books. I am not getting any money for blogging about these books.

These books explains everything, in a different way, and it makes complete sense. I have stacks of writer's books. I have spent hundreds of dollars and even thousands of dollars on writer's courses and conferences. This is the last book I will need on writing.

So, yesterday I watched more of the videos. Needless to say, I am re-plotting my novel. Same Concept, but listening to Jessica Brody on the videos, made me realize why I think my book is dull and boring. That is why I kept re-writing the first 50 pages. It was boring. So I am going to think on this and re-plot.

I need to work on my opening scene. I have re-written and re-written this scene and it is boring. So that is what I am going to work on this morning. This is my last day off and I don't want to waste the day.

I am not telling you to buy the course or the book. I am just saying that this book and the videos has opened my eyes and I understand things better. As a writer I want to learn how other writers write and think.

Writing When Sick

I didn't feel good the last two days. I slept a lot, but I was still thinking about my writing. I did sit on the couch with my laptop and did some writing, though that I know that I need to do rewrite, but I did write. Today I feel better and hopefully I will get more pages into the computer. I started the rewrite of a novel that has been rejected 20 times and I will get it back on the market. So that I it. I am going to start writing and get this done. What are you working on??? WRITER'S UPDATE: REWRITES

SO FAR THIS MONH...I HAVE WRITTEN 65 PAGES.... NOW TODAY....I AM GOING TO WRITE THOSE 65 PAGES WHY? I DON'T LIKE THE HOW THE BOOK STARTS I HAVE REWRITTEN THE BEGINNING...LIKE AT LEAST 4 TIMES.....SO HERE GOES #5 THIS IS WHY MY BOOK IS NOT PROGRESSING I KNOW I SHOULD KEEPING WRITING TO THE END....AND NOT REWRITE... BUT EACH TIME I WRITE THE NEW BEGINNING...I THINK THIS IS THE ONE SO TODAY IS OCTOBER 10TH. STARTING REWRITE #5 WISH ME LUCK

Don't Be Scammed

This is my number one pet peeve on being self published. There are people, website, and courses out there, that want your money. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEND! There are websites out there that will charge you for services that you can learn to do yourself. If you don't want to learn these things that is fine, pay for it. But if the reason that you are paying for services is because you don't t think you can, you are totally wrong. I have said this before and I am saying it again. I knew nothing when I started in 2011, I had a computer. I had no idea how to send a file via e-mail. I had no idea what to do one I got the file back from the formatter. How do I get it uploaded on Amazon. I had no idea that I had more than one drive on the computer. I downloaded a file and had no idea where it went. If you are thinking that you can not learn this.
