Mary Shelly Wrote Frankenstein with Pen & Ink

I have been rejected by every publisher in New York City.  I went to many writer's conferences and have spent thousands of dollars.  I have taken writing courses on-line.  I have joined writer's groups on Facebook.

This is what I have learned:

Write what you want.  Stop listening to others.  I have learned that no one cares if I write or not.  No one cares that I blog or not.  Writing does not effect anyone else's life except yours.

You might say, what about my family and my children.  I have a job.   Your family and children are doing their own thing.  Your husband, wife, partner doesn't have hobbies or hang out with their friends?  Your children play with other children.

If you want to write, then write.  Don't talk about it, don't tell anyone, just write, whether it is long hand or on a computer.

I am a Self-Published Author on Amazon.  My Books  I have over 75 E-Books and Print Books.

I watched a movie about the Author that wrote the book of Frankenstein, Mary Shelly.

She wrote the book Frankenstein in the 17th Century, where there was only pen and ink.  She had to write with pen and ink and be careful not to smear the ink.  She wrote by candle light.  There was no electric lights.  She was poor.  She had a child die after is was only a few month old.  She had no money.  She stayed in a drafty Castle and had to be cold and probably didn't eat well.  YET she wrote Frankenstein without complaining, whining or talking about what she was writing.  She wrote and she finished the book.  Which then was published under her husbands name.

So think about Mary Shelly when you don't want to write, or your hand hurts or you start feeling sorry for yourself.

Think how Mary Shelly wrote the Book Frankenstein.

I downloaded a picture of Mary Shelly and have the picture where I can see it everyday.

If Mary Shelly can write with Pen and Ink in a drafty castle without any money, I know I can write and finish my book on the computer.

Just something to think about.

If you want to write, write.  It is that simple.

I need to go write now.

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Writing Everyday

I am in awe of people who can write everyday.  I have heard that for years.  Write Everyday, even if it is just one word, one sentence or 1,000 words. I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...
