I have been up since 4:00AM.
Not something I like to do. I am not a morning person.
I quit my job in February to write.
1. I have a Non-Fiction Book with the Editor.
2.. I have completed the rough draft of my novel and now in rewrite stage.
3. I have a 90 day Devotional I am working on.
4. I am working on a memoir.
I have a lot of things going through my head everyday. I am constantly thinking of what I need to do. The problem is that I have no schedule. I no longer have a "job" to go to, so my days are mine. I have chickens, planted a garden, watched tv, caught up with The housewives of...on Bravo. I still have no schedule.
I have been writing 1,000 words a day. Then I am like, hey look at me: I am a writer. Done for the day, because I wrote 1,000 words. That is not going to cut it, if I want to make a living at this. I have no excuse not to write. I have no excuse at all. Sure life gets in the way, I need a schedule.
I woke up at 3:AM and started thinking and then finally got up at 4:00AM. I realize that you have kids, a job, a family.
You need a writing schedule or you will never finish that book.
Please don't use your kids or family as an excuse not to write.
You should embrace your kids and family. Not everyone has a family or children.
So you might have to get up early to write, leave for work early to write in your car in the parking lot.
I write best when I first wake up. I like the quiet of night to write.
When I wrote my Zombie Series I wrote on my nights off. I was very productive in my writing. That is what I have to get back to.
