No One Cares If You Write

This may be harsh to hear, but the truth is:

No One Cares If You Write

If don't write, it will not effect people around you.  Their lives will go on.  Of course if you start making money, everyone will care.  But when you are up early or staying up late, staring at a computer screen, no one cares.

I got no support from my family.  Zip, None.  My parents showed no interest in my writing and to this day has never read anything  I wrote.  My mother said  "Why would anyone want to sit in a room and listen to someone talk about writing?  That would be so boring?"

My Answer was.  "Why would a much of women want to sit around and quilt in a room for hours with their sewing machines.  That sounds boring."

So you have to develop thick skin if you want to be a writer.  Everyone is a critic.  They will tell you what is wrong with the book, before they will tell you what they like about the book. 

Wives, husbands, friends, family members, don't care.  They have their lives.

I learned this early on, so I have developed an attitude, I don't care what others think. 
I know that I am different.  I think different and I see the world different.  That is okay.

So if you are waiting for someone to pat you on the back, and tell you how great you are,  you might be waiting awhile.  Then once you are published, people will leave comments that you are not going to like.

I write because that is who I am.  I write the stories I want to tell.

You have stories that only you can tell.

Write your story.  Someone is waiting to read your story.

I am a writer and no one can take that away from me.
