Elevator Pitch

25 words or less to tell your story in a nutshell.  It is harder than you think.  You need to narrow down your story, so you can pitch yur story in one or two sentences.

I don't have a pitch for the story I am working on and I need to work on my pitch.  If you are planning on going to a writer's conference this year, you need to have your pitch memorized and ready to say it, anytime someone asks...What is your book about?

Does not what genre you write for.  You also can put your pitch in your query letter, and synopsis.

Let someone hear your pitch and listen to their response and rewrite it and get it right before you go to the conference or send it off to an editor or agent.

So narrow your story to 25 words or less.  I am willing to read your pitch.  Leave your pitch in the comments and let others see what you are doing and I will also read them.

You are not alone.  We are writers and can do this together.

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Writing Everyday

I am in awe of people who can write everyday.  I have heard that for years.  Write Everyday, even if it is just one word, one sentence or 1,000 words. I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...
