Movies Are Plotted Just Like Books

 10/14/2020

Words I Wrote Today:  2,357

Goal:  125,000

Deadline: December 31, 2020

Words Left To Write:  99,895

I am now under 100,000 words, that was my goal yesterday I wanted to get under 100,000 words.

I was watching Handmaid's Tale yesterday for 4 episodes of Season 2 when I should of been writing.  I wrote my word count in the morning so I could binge watch a few episodes.

It is a good series, but as I watch the series, I notice that each Episode is Named and it is jus like an episode of any show.  A beginning, A middle and An End.  That is how each scene of the book should be.  Goal, Conflict, Resolution.

I am also an Outlander Fan and have all 5 Seasons of that series.  If you want to see the Hero get into conflict after every turn.  Watch this series.  Again, Every Episode is a mini movie.  A Beginning, Middle and End.

So when I binge watch these series, I watch for goal, conflict, resolution.  Just like when I am watching a movie, I am watching for Plot Points.  I can no longer watch a movie for enjoyment, because I pick the movie apart.

That is why when you attend writer's workshops, they talk about movies, and break down a movie, because it is just like a book, plot points and all.

So next time you watch a movie, look for the plot points, the midpoint, the dark moment. etc.

Now you have a reason to Binge watch your favorite series

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Writing Everyday

I am in awe of people who can write everyday.  I have heard that for years.  Write Everyday, even if it is just one word, one sentence or 1,000 words. I believe it.  Writer's write.  It is that simple. There are people on Facebook, posting their word count.  I am in awe of those people. I try to write everyday, but it does not always work out that way for me. I guess what I am trying to say, it that don't feel bad if you don't write for one day.  You are still a writer. I know that this is NANO month and you are suppose to write everyday and at the end of the month, have written 50,000 words.  Which is awesome.  The way I am going, I am not going to make it.  I have no excuse but I have headaches everyday and I mean everyday.  Some days are better than others.  A lot of the headaches are sinus headaches.  I am not using this as an excuse.  I know that others have worse problems in their lives. So if you are a...
