How To Write 4 Books In One Year

I sent off my Non-Fiction Book to the editor.  I wrote in less than a month.  I worked on it for about 3-4 hours a day and within a couple of weeks the rough draft was done.  I reworked a few things and now it is off to the editor

That was only 10,000 words.

I want to write 100,000 word book.

Then other ideas pops into my head.  I jot them down.  I think they are brilliant.  Wait, I have to finish the novel that I am working on now.  I have the book cover, characters and plot.  I need to finish this book, but I also want to start this new series, oh but wait, what about my memoir?

I think my head is going to explode.

So I did some research this morning, when I should of been writing.

If you write 500 words a day, in one year you would have written 289,755 words in one year.

That could be 2 novels plus or 4 shorter novels, plus

If you write 1,000 words a day, in one year you would have written 365,000 words in one year.

So if you want to write a 75,000 word novel, that would come out to 4.87 books a year.

So think about that.  1,000 words a day is doable.  If not, start with 500 words a day.

The goal is not the word count, because some days you might write more, other days less.

The goal is to write everyday, no matter what.

So from this moment on, my goal is to write 1,000 words a day, on  my novels or short stories.  I am not going to count blogging or my non-fiction books.

So what do you think?  Want to see your book published?  Want to prove to your family, co-workers and friends that you are a writer, as you hand them your published book?

I have a calendar.  From this moment on, I will be tracking my word count.  I will keep you posted.

Keep On Writing.

Write No Matter What

I woke up and felt like a truck hit me.  I still turned my computer on and started writing.  That is the only way the story is going to get written.  Do I feel like writing?  Nope.  Do if feel like Blogging?  Nope.  I write cause that is what I do.  So I poured me a soda and let the caffine take its effect.  I have to get ready for work in a bit, I blooged, I wrote a bit, so I am still going in the write direction. I write no matter what.  whether I feel like  it or not. Have a great day. http://sharonleejohnson.com/

Work Ethic

What is your work ethic????  It might get that book written sooner. I admit that televison is my distraction from writing.  I can not write in the living room, where the telvision is staring at me.  I know it talks to me.  Maybe your distraction is something dirrerent.  The dishes calling you to wash them or those dust bunnies talkling to you.  Whatever it is we need to stop listening to them. I always plan on writing more than I do.  I came home from work yesterday, and had plans to write, then I ate and started flipping channels and then the time slipped by and I didn't write anything.  I think it all come down to one's work ethic.  Some have one and some don't. I think I am one of them that does not have a strong work ethic.  The fact that I want my book finished, is what motivates me.  I want to be a writer, so I write. http://iamwalkingwithgod.blogspot.com/

Writing When Sick

I didn't feel good the last two days.  I slept a lot, but I was still thinking about my writing.  I did sit on the couch with my laptop and did some writing, though that I know that I need to do rewrite, but I did write.  Today I feel better and hopefully I will get more pages into the computer.  I started the rewrite of a novel that has been rejected 20 times and I will get it back on the market. So that I it.  I am going to start writing and get this done. What are you working on??? This is a new year.....New Beginning.
